Abstract:
A method and apparatus for communicating simultaneously at the same frequencies includes two or more conductor-backed, spiral antennas that have been shown to exhibit linear polarization. To permit simultaneous transmission on the same frequencies, two of the linearly polarize, conductor-backed spiral antennas can be spaced vertically and be oriented so that the feed points of one antenna are orthogonal to the feed points of the second antenna. Since the specifically designed spiral antennas will be both transmitting or both receiving at orthogonally arranged polarizations, the antennas will not interfere with each other, even though communication is upon substantially the same frequencies.

Abstract:
A micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) power generator employing a plurality of magnetic masses disposed to oscillate on spring elements in a manner that produces an unusually steep flux gradient at one or more conductive coils, thereby harvesting a substantial portion of the available mechanical energy. The energy from ambient mechanical vibration is harvested to produce electrical power sufficient to power individual electronic elements for a variety of low-cost and high-performance distributed sensor systems for medical, automotive, manufacturing, robotics, and household applications.

Abstract:
A vibrational energy harvesting apparatus comprising: a substrate having a plurality of integral compliant regions; at least two ferromagnetic masses each coupled to a corresponding one or more of the integral compliant regions such that at least one of the ferromagnetic masses moves with respect to the substrate responsive to substrate acceleration, each ferromagnetic mass having an inner magnetic pole disposed such that the inner magnetic poles are separated by a gap, wherein the magnetic polarities of the inner magnetic poles on the opposing sides of the gap are similar; wherein the inner magnetic poles form a steep flux gradient region in and around the gap; and a coil coupled to the substrate and disposed within the steep flux gradient region where it is exposed to a changing magnetic flux arising from motion of at least one of the ferromagnetic masses with respect to the substrate.

Abstract:
A system and process for the geo-location of an asset given no a priori knowledge regarding time and location of the asset with minimized power consumption is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the system is accurate to about 30 meters CEP (50% circular error probable) using just a short segment, e. g. , 100-200 ms, of digitized GPS L1 signal data.

Abstract:
A fiber optic delay line filter receives light energy input signals repretative of any form of temporally varying signals such as electrical or acoustical, for example. A plurality of fiber optic light paths each having a determinably variant optical propagation delay, receives and transmits the light energy signals. A photo responsive means receives the delayed output light energy signals transmitted by the plurality of fiber optic light paths and produces a single electrical output signal as a function of the sum of the delayed output light energy signals, thus performing a filtering or correlation function. In a preferred embodiment, an injection laser or light emitting diode may be employed as the means for converting the temporally varying input signals to commensurate light energy signals. In a variant embodiment, a single fiber optic light path, having a partially reflective surface at each end, gives effect to multiple reflective transmissions along the length of the fiber optic light path which are then detected by a photo responsive device, providing a narrowband filter output as a function of the length and number of multiple reflective transmissions.
A method of providing accurate position, navigation, and timing information comprising the steps of providing at least four transceiver devices, providing an auxiliary GPS device, and providing a receiver GPS device. Each transceiver devices receives a plurality of GPS signals from a plurality of GPS satellites, and calculates a transceiver position and transceiver velocity vector. The transceiver position, transceiver velocity vector, and GPS signal are repackaged at each transceiver into a first spread signal structure, which is transmitted from each transceiver as a first GPS-like signal. The GPS-like signal is received at an auxiliary GPS device, which generates a simulated GPS signal. This simulated GPS signal is then output and received by a simulated GPS device.
Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Radar Detector
A device for detecting frequency modulated continuous wave radar includes an antenna connected to a bandpass filter. The antenna is configured to receive frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) pulses within a predetermined frequency range. A frequency mixer is connected to the bandpass filter and a synthesizer and is configured to mix a signal from the synthesizer with an output of the bandpass filter to produce basebanded data. A high-pass filter is configured to isolate short pulses pertaining to the basebanded data, and a low-pass filter is configured to isolate long pulses pertaining to the basebanded data. A microprocessor is configured to set thresholds for comparison with the outputs of the high-pass filter and the low-pass filter.

Abstract:
A transmitter includes: a data providing component that provides data to be transmitted; a transforming component that generates transformed data based on the data to be transmitted; and a transmitting component that transmits the transformed data. The transforming component includes a modulator, a code generator and a data structure having stored therein a first mathematical function. The first mathematical function includes a primary first function term. The primary first function term includes a first parameter within a predetermined first delineated boundary of parameters. The code generator generates coded data so as to form an error-detecting code from the data to be transmitted. The modulator modulates the coded data with the primary first function term.
