Abstract:An acoustic device, including an acoustic enclosure and a first electroacoustical transducing apparatus comprising a motor structure providing mechanical vibration, the vibration having a direction of vibration, mounted in the acoustic enclosure. The acoustic device is constructed and arranged so that first pressure waves are radiated from a first radiation point and second pressure waves are radiated from a second radiation point and so that the first pressure waves and the second pressure waves destructively interfere at observation points relatively equidistant from the first and second radiation points. The acoustic device is further constructed and arranged to be structurally combined with a seating device so that the first radiation point is relatively close to the head of an occupant of the seating device and so that the second radiation point is relatively far from the head of the occupant. The acoustic device is further constructed and arranged to transmit the mechanical vibration to the seat back.

Abstract:The present device includes a resistor network wherein the values of the resistors are chosen such that the heat generated by current passing through the resistors will be substantially equal to heat generated at a semiconductor junction which is to be cooled. The present device further includes a heat sink which is substantially identical to the heat sink employed to withdraw heat from the semiconductor junction to be cooled. Accordingly, the present device provides heat which is identical to the heat generated at the semiconductor junction and which heat remains ambient to the semiconductor junction to be cooled. The present device further includes a sensor which converts temperature to an electrical signal and which is located substantially in the center of the resistor network and at a distance from the heat sink that approximates the position of the semiconductor junction from its heat sink. The temperature to electrical signal sensor generates a control electrical signal whose value is commensurate with the temperature of the air at the location of the temperature to electrical signal sensor and that temperature is substantially identical to the temperature at the semiconductor junction. The control electrical signal is employed by a servo circuit to drive an air fan to move air over the semiconductor junction to cool it.

Abstract:The present invention comprises a computer system housing embodying the invention incorporates a frame upon which the components of the computer system are mounted. The frame has a base, a main unit secured to the frame, and a front compartment, for mounting mass storage unit therein, swingably positioned on the main unit. A housing adapted for supporting a central processor unit and a power supply of the computer system is removable disposed in the main unit. The frame and the housing are provided with all pneumatic connections so that air for cooling various components of the computer system may be brought over such components by the action of a fan mounted on the base. Thus, internally generated heat in such components can be readily dissipated by the air flow over such components. The frame and the housing are adapted so that the components of the computer system positioned therein are accessible with relative ease so that they are installed, replaced, and repaired easily.

Abstract:A loudspeaker system comprises a woofer in a front panel, a midrange driver facing to the front and a tweeter in a corner panel separated from the midrange driver by the woofer and pointing to the front and side with a crossover network arranged to energize at least the midrange and tweeter in an overlapping frequency range. An adjustable deflector is positioned near the tweeter. Another embodiment of the invention has only a woofer and a tweeter on only one corner panel with the crossover network arranged to energize the two in a common frequency range that is greater than an octave.
