and teachers attained high distinction for their scholarly or professional accomplishments. 2013 Governor's Volunteer Service Award Governor Pat Quinn, Illinois The bipartisan Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service presents the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards. These awards recognize individual volunteers through a statewide award program to highlight the importance of volunteerism and community service in the State of Illinois.
Individual Awards will be presented to one Youth (18 and under), one Adult (19-54 years old) and one Retiree/Senior (55+ years old) in each of the Commission's five service regions across the state (Northeast, Northwest, East Central, West Central and Southern Illinois). Veteran of the Month Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Selected as Veteran of the Month by the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs for the month of July, 2012 for work with veterans through the Veterans' Assistance Service Organization at the DePaul College of Law.
