Abstract:

A system for designing CAD assemblies and products over a network. The system includes a CAD system, and a design system. The design system includes an administration CAD adapter, an administration system, a scripting engine, a database, and a server CAD adapter. The administration CAD adapter communicates information between the administration system and the CAD system. The administration system is adapted to define relationships between separate CAD objects and Web objects. The scripting engine generates the assembly instructions and a product configuration form from the defined relationships. A client connects to the design system through a network and a server that is connected to the design system or is directly connected to the design system. The client receives the product configuration form, and a designer uses the form to generate a CAD product design. The product design form is structured so that fields on the form are automatically modified in response to entries on the form or other entries connected to the form.

Abstract:

A method of implementing an administration system for use with a computer aided design (CAD) system. The method includes generating multiple CAD objects using the CAD system, and generating multiple web objects. A set of object properties is defined for each of the CAD objects; and for each of the web objects. A plurality of links are created, with each link defining a conditional relationship between a parent object and a child object. Each parent object is one of the CAD objects or one of the web objects, and each child object is one of the CAD objects or one of the web objects. A set of link relationships is defined for each of the links.

Abstract:

A virtual catalog system and method for collecting, classifying, storing and exploiting a plurality of assets. The system uses a keyword tree comprising a plurality of nodes that each include at least one keyword. Assets are classified by associating a keyword set with each classified asset, the keyword set including one or more keywords. Searches of the assets are done based on search requests of one or more keywords. The search results are displayed in a results tree having a branch for each keyword or keyword group included in the search request, and a results set is displayed wherein each asset of the results set is associated with all of the keywords included in the search request.

Abstract:

A system and method for establishing persistent collaborative on-line meeting spaces for a plurality of participants located at a plurality of different locations using computing devices across a communication network. The system includes sending invitations to the plurality of participants, and establishing the identity of potential attendees and only allowing authorized participants to enter the meeting space. The system also includes creating a virtual workspace on a workspace computer wherein the participants can interact. The interaction can include creating, adding, organizing, and deleting meeting content. The system also records status, movement and modification of the meeting content and participant activities during the meeting for later playback. The system can use user contributed objects and content, virtual sticky notes, organizer tools and other items, and can support multiple security levels.
