Abstract:

The specification describes electrical assemblies comprising actively cooled components wherein a thermal interposer is used to limit heat transfer between the ambient and the cooled components. The thermal interposer is effective for transmitting signals for both power/ground and RF. Structurally, the thermal interposer comprises thin conductors in various configurations that convey electrical signals but significantly limit heat flow.

The invention in its broadest form includes a device for inverting a cover with a predetermined weight from a horizontal position to an inverted position, the device comprising a crane for lifting the cover; at least two pivotable brackets each attached to both the cover and the crane and positioned to suspend a substantial amount of the weight of the cover for pivoting the cover; and a cable attached to the cover at one end and to the crane at its other end and positioned to suspend a nominal amount of the weight of the cover for supporting the cover.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a communicating device (e.g., either a ground station server or a particular distributed module of a satellite communication system) mitigates congestion on a particular return communication path via an intermediate satellite from the plurality of distributed modules to the ground station server. In particular, in response to determining that the level of congestion is above a threshold, then the communication device mitigates the congestion by, e.g., one or both of either a) determining an uncongested return communication path from a particular distributed module to the ground station server, ensuring that the uncongested return communication path would not interfere with any unintended receiver, and then causing the particular distributed module to use the uncongested return communication path, and b) enforcing one or more communication restrictions on a utilized return communication path to reduce the effect of a communication on the overall congestion of the utilized return communication path.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a ground station server of a satellite communication system mitigates congestion on a particular forward communication path via an intermediate satellite from the ground station server to a plurality of distributed modules. In particular, in response to determining that the level of congestion is above a threshold, then the ground station server mitigates the congestion by, e.g., determining uncongested forward communication paths, scheduling a sufficient amount of communication over the uncongested forward communication paths to alleviate congestion on the particular forward communication path without congesting the one or more uncongested forward communication paths, transmitting instructions on the particular forward communication path to corresponding modules of the plurality of distributed modules, the instructions causing the corresponding modules to use a respective uncongested forward communication path, and communicating to the corresponding modules on their respective uncongested forward communication path.

Abstract:

A system to display a flag and a method of manufacturing the flag display system are described. The system includes an attachment member configured to affix the system to a structure horizontally, vertically, or at an angle in between. The system also includes a flag housing configured to house a flag, the flag housing being coupled to the attachment member, a roller member disposed in the flag housing, the flag being disposed to roll onto and off of the roller member to be stored or displayed, respectively, and a guide member coupled to the roller member at a first end in the flag housing, the guide member being configured to maintain alignment between the flag and the roller member when the flag is rolled onto and off of the roller member.
