Philosophy:
I use a collaborative approach with patients and the method is discussed with them. The method is, first of all, one which I believe the research thus far supports as effective. For example, for OCD Exposure and Response Prevention generally is most effective, with CBT as an adjunct. I use Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy, which often relieves depression and anxiety and works quickly, and I also use EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), which has much research to back it up. For hair-pulling, I use a comprehensive approach including CBT and behavior therapy.
