Abstract:
The invention provides systems containing a sterile container for aspiration, filtering, treating and reinjection into a subject of a bodily fluid in a sterile environment. The systems are particularly designed to facilitate transfection of cells within the sterile container by gene therapy molecules and reinjection of the transfected cells into the donor at controlled depth in precisely controlled volumes such as is useful for revascularization of ischemic cardiac tissue. For injection, a pressure actuator, preferably hand-held, applies force to liquids held within the sterile container in precisely controlled increments, thereby expressing liquids through a hollow needle or injection catheter in precisely controlled microvolumes. The invention systems include a hand-held injection device with audible cues that correspond to an operator-selected injection volume and/or audible cues that correspond to needle penetration depth selected by the operator.

Abstract:
A method, computer program product and system for detecting and compensating for color misregistration. A black/white edge or a solid color edge on a target may be scanned. A black/white edge may refer to a black image, e. g. , black text, on a white surrounding background having a rapid spatial transition from black to white. A solid color edge may refer to a solid color image, e. g. , solid color text, on a white surrounding background having a rapid spatial transition from color to white. A curve of gray values versus spatial pixel positions for each color channel, e. g. , red, green and blue color channels, may be generated. A misregistration error may then be calculated by calculating the offset between the color channel curves. The misregistration error may then be used to calibrate the scanner to compensate for the detected color misregistration.

Abstract:
A multiple beam printer system having N laser beams receives print job information from a print host. A rendering application uses a threshold array to generate halftone image data from the print job. The threshold array is defined based on a spot function. The defined screen is non-orthogonal and includes Y pels in a direction that is perpendicular to a scanning direction of the laser beams where Y is an integer multiple of N. A distance between screen dots in pels is preferably equal to an integer multiple of N. The screen dot may be defined by a supercell encompassing two screen dots and having an odd number of pels in a direction that is parallel to the scanning direction. The spot function may include a snap feature that snaps a screen dot to the nearest printer grid pel. The spot function may include scaling to compensate for the distortion of the non-orthogonal screen dot.

Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for identifying content within a scanned document. The apparatus includes a modification module, an identification module, and a segmentation module. The modification module creates a modified content data set through application of a sigmoid function to a scanned content data set. The identification module identifies a content segment within the modified content data set. The segmentation module identifies a content segment type of the content segment. Exemplary content segment types include text, line art, and images.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and media to enhance image processing for a color reprographic system are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention may calibrate a component like scanner and/or printer in response to user input and/or coupling the component to the reprographic system. More specifically, embodiments may generate correction parameters that describe differences in color values between an image scanned by a scanner or an image printed by the printer by comparing the outputs to known characteristics like color values for the image. Some embodiments comprise a graphical user interface (GUI) to communicate with the user, allowing the user to select user preferences to change, for example, the brightness of an image being copied. Further embodiments incorporate network and phone system interfaces to communicate with remote components as well as to receive input from and/or output to other systems via email, facsimile, etc.

Abstract:
A color management workflow for offset printing using custom inks is disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus for color management workflow for transitioning offset printing using custom inks to digital printing includes a color image recording device to measure one or more spot color ramps that correspond to custom ink colors, the color image device operable to determine a matching L*a*b value for the spot color ramps. The apparatus further includes a color characterization module to determine device CMYK matches for each of the L*a*b values for the one or more spot color ramps and create a custom input characterization file based on the device CMYK matches and an International Color Consortium (ICC) profile module to create a new input ICC file and a new output ICC file from the custom input characterization file.

Methods and systems herein provide for calibrating for a plurality of different paper types. In one embodiment, a system for calibrating a printer includes a measurement module operable to detect colors printed on a first tangible medium by the printer and convert the detected colors to a detected color characterization. The system also includes a storage module operable to store a calibration file. The calibration file includes color characterizations of a plurality of different tangible mediums and each color characterization includes color measurements for one of the plurality of different tangible mediums obtained from the printer via the measurement module when the printer is calibrated. The system also includes a calibration module operable to compare the detected color characterization to at least two color characterizations of the calibration file and determine an adjustment to an output color scheme of the printer based on the comparison to calibrate the printer.
