Abstract:

A system and method utilizing compressed gas according to which the gas is compressed at a location above ground and transported to an underwater location. The gas is stored at the underwater location and later returned from the underwater location to the above-ground location for utilization as energy.

Abstract:

A water ride for swimmers utilizes the linear movement of a large quantity of water of swimming depth at minimal slopes so that the swimmer is moved by the water rather than through it. High volume pumps at low water heads move large quantities of water to create varying water velocity characteristics. A circuitous course is configured generally in the form of an S-curve with a complete 360. degree. circular portion at the bottom with a straight connecting portion from the circle to the top of the S-curve. Water is pumped through the S-curve and connecting portion at a one rate and through the circular portion at another rate. The continuous channel varies along its length in depth, width, slope, and curvature to vary the velocity and flow characteristic of the flowing water. Entrances and exits are provided on the straight connecting portion and on the circular portion. The main entrance on the straight portion is less than 7 feet above the main entrance on the circular portion.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a golf putter having a shaft attached to the club face of the head by a hosel. The hosel is attached to the face with the bottom of the hosel flush with the bottom of the head and the bottom of the face. The hosel maintains the face and the shaft in spaced parallel planes to define a space between the face and the shaft. The hosel may have a circular cross sectional shape or another cross sectional shape that allows the golfer to better see the bottom of the hosel. The present invention provides a golf putter that allows the golfer to clearly see the bottom of the hosel and, thus, gauge the distance to the ground and the bottom of the golf putter so that the golfer can know how far he may come up in the stroke to apply a top spin to the golf ball without topping the ball and allows the golfer to apply a pulling stroke rather than a pushing stroke.

Abstract:

An auxiliary electrode includes a conductive layer having a first major surface in an X-Y plane, the conductive layer is electrically conductive and has a first surface area. The auxiliary electrode includes a first carrier ion supply layer and a second carrier ion supply layer, each carrier ion supply layer comprising a material that supplies carrier ions for an electrode of the secondary battery. The first carrier ion supply layer covers a first region of the first major surface of the conductive layer and the second carrier ion supply layer covers a second region of the first major surface of the conductive layer. The first and second regions are separated by a third region, the third region configured to be folded such that the first region and the second region are substantially parallel, and the third region is substantially perpendicular to the first and second regions in the folded configuration.
