Abstract:
A method for regulating network traffic may be provided. The method may comprise: measuring usage of a CPU; determining if the CPU usage is greater than an overload threshold value; halting the increase of a data traffic shaping rate associated with traffic regulated by the CPU if the CPU usage is greater than the overload threshold value; determining if the CPU usage is greater than an overflow threshold value; and decreasing the data traffic shaping rate associated with traffic regulated by the CPU if the CPU usage is greater than the overflow threshold value for improving session setup speed.

Abstract:
A memory element (ME) including at least one layer of conductive metal oxide (CMO) that includes mobile oxygen ions and including at least two layers of insulating metal oxide (IMO) is disclosed. In one configuration a layer of IMO that is directly in contact with a CMO layer is specifically selected so that a material of the IMO layer is non-reactive with a material of the CMO. In another configuration, at least one pair of adjacent IMO layers are made from materials having different band gaps operative to an generate an internal electric field positioned in the layers and present in the at least two adjacent IMO layers in the absence of electrical power. The internal electric field can be a static electric field. The IMO and/or CMO layers can be deposited in part or in whole using ALD, PEALD, or nano-deposition. The ME can be formed BEOL.

Abstract:
A client device can receive, from a data processing system, first data, the first data selected by the data processing system based on second data generated by at least one IoT device with which the client device is associated, and the first data indicating at least one advertisement. The client device can access the at least one advertisement using the first data indicating the at least one advertisement. The client device can add the at least one advertisement to the content accessed by the client device. The client device can present the content with the at least one advertisement added to the content.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a computer-implemented method of performing an electronic search. The computer-implemented method includes receiving, using a processor, a composite electronic image including a plurality of electronically identifiable objects, wherein the composite electronic image is associated with a user. The processor is used to segment the composite electronic image into sub-images by providing at least one of the sub-images for each of the plurality of electronically identifiable objects. For each of the sub-images, the processor is used to perform personalized sub-image search operations. The personalized sub-image search operations include selecting a sub-image-to-be-searched from among the sub-images; associating the sub-image-to-be-searched with personalized metadata of the user; and searching, based at least in part on the personalized metadata of the user, a database to return a set of search images.

Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for optimizing a stick-slip algorithm for controlling a driver of a drill string. A method may include commencing operation of a control system for controlling the driver. The control system may have a processor and a memory storing a computer program code, which may include the stick-slip algorithm. The operating control system may receive a plurality of different numerical parameters, and for each of the different numerical parameters, incorporate the numerical parameter into the stick-slip algorithm and execute the stick-slip algorithm to determine a control command that causes the driver to rotate the drill string to perform drilling operations while reducing amplitude of rotational waves travelling along the drill string.

Abstract:
A method of recognizing movement includes measuring, by an inertial sensor, a first unit of inertia of an object. In addition, the method includes measuring a three dimensional shape of the object. Further, the method includes receiving, by a processor, a signal representative of the measured first unit of inertia from the inertial sensor and a signal representative of the measured shape from the depth sensor. Still further, the method includes determining a type of movement of the object based on the measured first unit of inertia and the measured shape utilizing a classification model.

Abstract:
A system and method of media content acquisition and filtering are provided. The method includes setting a user profile, user selections, and user preferences locally at a receiving end based on at least one user input, receiving media content at the receiving end from a broadcast server, and processing, using an analytics model, one or more of the user preferences, the user selections, and analytics generated using the user profile and user preferences using a learning capability of the analytics model, filtering the media content at the receiving end based on one or more of user ID logic, the user profile, the user preferences, the user selections, and analytics generated using the user profile and user preferences.
A computer-implemented method of selecting a media program includes continuously monitoring a plurality of media programs on available channels and analyzing, by a processor, a content of the programs. The content is compared to a set of user preferences and the programs are ranked based on the user preferences. An optimal program is selected based on the rankings and is switched to. A media system includes a media output device and a user interface. A controller is operably connected to the media output device and to the user interface. The controller includes a control system configured to monitor media programs on available channels and analyze a content of the media programs. The content is compared to a set of user preferences and the programs are ranked based on the user preferences. An optimal media program is selected based on the rankings and is switched to by the control system.
