Abstract:

A system and method for conducting distributed transactions wherein a connect JDBC™ driver for a Microsoft™ SQL Server implements Java™ JTA distributed transactions. To conduct the JTA distributed transactions, JTA specific interfaces are engineered in the driver. The JDBC™ driver is a wire protocol driver in direct TCP communication with the SQL server. During communication, the JDBC™ driver sends packets of information back and forth to and from the database server. These packets may request information form the server, or instruct the server to perform a function, such as executing a stored procedure.

Abstract:

A battery of series-connected rechargeable lithium ion cells each of which contains a negative electrode; a negative electrode current collector; a positive electrode; a positive electrode current collector; and an electrolyte comprising charge carrying medium, lithium salt and cyclable redox chemical shuttle. The negative electrode has a larger i rreversible first cycle capacity loss than that of the positive electrode, and is driven to a potential above that of the positive electrode if the cell is discharged to a state of cell reversal. The shuttle has an electrochemical potential above the positive electrode maximum normal operating potential, and prevents the negative electrode potential from reaching even higher and more destructive positive values during overdischarge. The current collector has a lithium alloying potential below the negative electrode minimum normal operating potential. The battery chemically limits or eliminates cell damage due to repeated overdischarge, and may operate without electronic overdischarge protection circuitry.

Abstract:

A testing system and method for providing a testing system includes a user interface having a display for displaying information relating to measurements of health data and an input device for receiving information from a user relating to the health data. Provided in connection with the user interface is an autologging feature adapted to provide the user with user-selectable options on the display. The user is prompted, during a time period corresponding to the amount of time needed to perform the measurements, to input information relating to the health data that corresponds to the appropriate user-selectable option. Also provided is a statistical operation adapted to provide the user with enhanced information relating to the measurements of health data. The statistical operation provide the user with an average value based on a plurality of health data readings determined for a specified time period. Also provided is at least one indicator for indicating information relating to the number of health data readings that are within a target range, the number of health data readings that are above the target range and the number of health data readings that are below the target range.

Abstract:

Semiconductor designs are large and complex, typically consisting of numerous circuits called cells. To handle complexity, hierarchical structures are imposed on the semiconductor design to help accomplish analysis, simulation, verification, and so on. The hierarchical structures define architecture, behavior, function, structure, etc. of the semiconductor design. Virtual cells are constructed to compress cell geometries and ease the various design tasks. A cell and multiple instances of the cell are identified within the semiconductor design and the virtual hierarchical levels describing the design. Virtual hierarchical layer (VHL) data based on the cell is loaded. A virtual cell model representative of the cell is obtained. Interactions between cell data and VHL data are determined, and relevant portions of shapes are selected. Data within the virtual cell model is reduced based on the determined interactions.
