A sweatband which has a first component for absorbing copious quantities of perspiration from a user's skin and a second component for holding the first component against that part of the user's body from which perspiration is to be adsorbed. The moisture absorbing component has a core of moisture absorbent material covered with a soft, pliable material which will be comfortable to the user and will efficiently promote the absorption of moisture from the user's skin and the transfer of that moisture to the absorbent core. The second component of the sweatband includes an elongated, elastically extensible member with the ends thereof fixed to opposite ends of the first sweatband component. A visor may be attached to the sweatband to provide an article of apparel which is capable of absorbing perspiration from a user's forehead and of simultaneously shielding the user's eyes and face from the elements.
A standard and bracket support system having continuous adjustability to an infinite number of bracket positions is provided. The standard portion includes an elongated standard having opposed front and back walls with a slot through the front wall. The bracket has a heel portion coupled to a transverse plate. The plate has a length larger than the front-to-back interior depth of the standard. The bracket can be tilted upward, positioning the plate at an angle in the interior of the standard to permit free movement along the length of the standard, with the bracket arm extending through the slot. When the desired position is reached, the bracket is pivoted towards a locked configuration. The excess length of the plate causes elastic deformation of the standard walls. The plate moves from an upward angle configuration through a horizontal configuration, causing maximum standard deformation and to a downward angle configuration determined by a stop device such as the heel bottom of the bracket.

Abstract:
A standard and bracket support system is provided. The standard portion includes an elongated standard having opposed front and back walls. One or more brackets are coupled to the standard. An engagement member for engaging a shelf or other supportive item is coupled to the bracket. The shelf-engagement member includes a slot which receives a portion of a bracket. The shelf-engagement member is coupled to a shelf or other supported item. In one embodiment, engagement is by screwing, nailing or adhering a flat portion of the shelf-engagement member to the portion of the shelf, preferably a rear edge or bottom surface of a shelf. In another embodiment, the shelf-engagement member is an elongated member with a channel for receiving an edge of a shelf or other supported item.
