Abstract:
Some implementations of the disclosure are directed to a media access controller (MAC) of a mobile satellite terminal that may autonomously determine whether or not wake up a software processor of the mobile satellite terminal depending on information contained in a packet received from a user device. The MAC may receive a frame contained in a packet transmitted by a user device to the mobile satellite terminal; automatically determine whether to accept or drop the frame by applying one or more programmed filters to the frame; if the frame is accepted: store the frame in the memory, and cause a power controller to power on the software processor to process the stored frame; and if the frame is not accepted: drop the frame without causing the power controller to power on the software processor.

Description:
The 4th of 5 boys born to a career Navy Master Chief and a Registered Nurse, I don't remember a dull moment. My family moved from where I was born in Norfolk Virginia to Indianapolis, Indiana when I was 6 years old. It was great to grow up in a neighborhood where I could leave in the morning, play all day and come home in time for dinner - without worry of safety. It was always exciting to be loaded into the wood paneled station wagon each summer and travel to see the extended family in Butler Pennsylvania and Greenfield Massachusetts. I can still pick up the accents of the areas to this day. After graduation from High School, I joined the navy to see the world, earn my college education money and have the benefit of the GI bill to buy a home. I fell in love with San Diego and decided to stay here. I worked my way through San Diego State University to attain a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations and a minor in Sociology. After college, I was with the San Diego Daily Transcript writing a restaurant column and then decided to move forward with education. I worked for the University Of Phoenix and attained my Masters Degree in Business. I also spent a few years with the corporate accounts division of AT&T where I sold and managed multi-million dollar contracts. The corporate world lacked a certain human element and interaction that I have always flourished in - I enjoy empowering others. My family prompted me to explore the possibilities of Real Estate as they had found great success (in the slow market of the 1990s). I was attracted to the possibility of learning about the most important investment that most people have and helping to maximize that profit while educating along the way. When I bought my first home, I witnessed first hand the stresses of an escrow. Real estate offered me the flexibility to develop my own business plan while implementing all that I learned through education and experience. The main goal of the business plan is to empower and inspire all of my clients to the possibilities available to them and educate while the transaction progresses. This allows each client to feel that they have control over the transaction and have guidance from a professional who truly cares about their best interest.
