Abstract:An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding gasket. The gasket is formed as having a resilient core member of an indefinite length which is sheathed in an electrically conductive fiber mesh member. A thermoplastic member is incorporated within the fiber mesh member for consolidating at least a portion of the fiber mesh member. The consolidation is effective to maintain the integrity of the fiber mesh member at an end of the gasket when the gasket is terminated to a determinable length.
