Abstract:
A method and circuit for pre-emphasis equalization of a high speed data communication system can be provided through the use of programmable pulse shaping. A data communication system configured with the pre-emphasis equalization circuit operates by receiving an input data stream and outputting a data stream for transmission through an interconnect or other transmission channel. The data can be passed through an output buffer configured with programmable pre-emphasis equalization, having input inverters at an input stage and output inverters at an output stage. During operation, once an input signal to the input stage transitions, for example from a low to a high state, an input signal to the output stage is configured to a full amplitude to drive the transmission channel. Once the output stage transitions to a full amplitude, the input of the output stage is configured closer to a mid-scale amplitude. The amount of amplitude change from full scale back to mid-scale determines the amount of equalization to be provided by the output buffer to the transmission channel.

Abstract:
An isolated switched-mode power converter converts power from an input source into power for an output load. Power switches within a primary-side power stage control the amount of power input to the power converter and, ultimately, provided to the output load. A digital controller on the secondary side of the power converter generates signals to control the power switches. This controller also senses a rectified voltage on the secondary side of the power converter and uses this sensed voltage to detect fault conditions of the primary side. For example, the sensed rectified voltage is used to detect undervoltage or overvoltage conditions of the input power source of the power converter, or faulty power switches within the primary-side power stage.

Abstract:
A method of calibrating a regulator includes: measuring at least one of a voltage and a current; comparing the measurement to a nominal value of the at least one of the voltage and the current; generating a correction parameter of the comparison of the measurement to the nominal value; and storing the correction parameter in a local memory of the regulator.

Abstract:
An isolated switched-mode power converter converts power from an input source into power for an output load. Power switches within a primary-side power stage control the amount of power input to the power converter and, ultimately, provided to the output load. A digital controller on the secondary side of the power converter generates signals to control the power switches. This generation is based upon closed-loop (feedback) control as well as feedforward control. The feedforward control compensates for variations in the voltage of the input source. The input voltage is estimated by sensing a rectified voltage at a node between a secondary winding of the isolation transformer and an output filter. The feedforward compensation modifies the generated switch control signals based upon the sensed rectified voltage.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for a power regulator according to various aspects of the present invention may comprise a sensor adapted to generate a measurement of a voltage or a current. A memory may store a correction parameter that corresponds to the measurement, and a correction system may be adapted to adjust the measurement according to the correction parameter.
