In one embodiment, a low profile antenna according to the present invention comprises a balanced transmission line, electronic circuitry, and a parasitic element. The electronic circuitry is coupled to an interconnecting end of the transmission line and operable to direct electromagnetic energy through the transmission line to a terminating end. The parasitic element has a surface that is disposed at a predetermined distance from the terminating end and normal to the central axis such that the surface of the parasitic element covers an opening formed by the terminating end.

Abstract:
According to one embodiment, simulating the mutual performance of an antenna array coupled to an electrical drive circuit includes receiving one or more cross-coupling matrices and a number of electrical circuit parameters. Each cross-coupling matrix comprises matrix elements that each represent a cross-coupling factor of one antenna element to another antenna element of the antenna array. The electrical circuit parameters model one or more characteristics of the electrical drive circuit. Performance of the microwave antenna array and the electrical drive circuit in a far-field environment is modeled according to the electrical circuit parameters and the cross-coupling matrices.
Differential Feed Notch Radiator With Integrated Balun
A differential feed notched radiator. A notched radiator includes a planar dielectric substrate having a first surface and an oppositely facing second surface, and a first conductive layer on the first surface and a second conductive layer on the second surface. The first and second conductive layers are patterned to provide a tapered notch in a first region of the planar dielectric substrate, the tapered notch having a first end and a second end wider than the first end, and the first and second conductive layers patterned to provide a balun in a second region of the planar dielectric substrate, the balun connected with the first end of the tapered notch. A conductive strip for transferring differential signals is embedded in the planar dielectric substrate between the first and second conductive layers, a portion of the conductive strip intersecting a portion of the tapered notch near the first end.
In one embodiment of the disclosure, a dual polarized antenna includes first and second active elements and at least one parasitic element disposed a predetermined distance from the first and second active elements. Circuitry is coupled to the first and second active elements and operable to generate electro-magnetic energy from the first and second active elements along a direction of propagation. The first active element having a direction of polarization that is different than a direction of polarization of the second active element.
Resistive Frequency Selective Surface Circuit For Reducing Coupling And Electromagnetic Interference In Radar Antenna Arrays
An antenna system for reducing unwanted coupling and electromagnetic interference, the antenna system including a transmit module configured to send a signal, a receive module configured to receive the signal, a radome, and a resistive frequency selective surface circuit configured to reduce a coupled portion of the signal, the resistive frequency selective surface circuit disposed in a path of the coupled portion of the signal.
An assembly comprises a first subassembly, a second subassembly, and a conductive grounding element. The first subassembly comprises a first module comprising a first ground plane and a first conductive region in operable communication with the first ground plane. The second subassembly comprises a second module comprising a second ground plane distinct from the first ground plane and a second conductive region in operable communication with the second ground plane. The first and second subassemblies attach to each other along a seam. The conductive grounding element comprises an electrically conductive material including a first portion disposed adjacent to the first conductive region and a second portion disposed adjacent the second conductive region. The conductive grounding element is configured to fill one or more gaps in the seam and to operably couple together the first and second ground planes of the first and second subassemblies into a third common ground plane.

Abstract:
Described is a radio frequency (RF) array antenna element provided from a multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) having disposed thereon a plurality of dual-polarized antenna elements with each of the dual-polarized antenna elements disposed to define a segmentation cut plane therebetween to enable size modification and modular construction of the RF array antenna.
Tripole Current Loop Radiating Element With Integrated Circularly Polarized Feed
In accordance with the concepts, systems, methods and techniques described herein a tripole current loop radiating element is provided having three conductors disposed on a substrate with the three conductors being physically spaced apart from each other and arranged to be responsive to radio frequency (RF) signals at a desired frequency range. Each of the three conductors includes a ground via to couple the respective conductor to a ground plane and a signal via to receive RF signals from a single feed circuit. The feed circuit includes a signal port, and first, second and third antenna ports, with each of the antenna ports coupled to a respective one of the three conductors. The feed circuit can provide the RF signals to each of the three conductors having equal amplitudes and distributed with relative phases of 0/120/240 respectively (i.e., phase shifted by 120 from an adjacent conductor).

Former American CEO Doug Parker Steps Down As Chairman
I think weve seen that with the transition from Doug Parker to Robert Isom as CEO of American, not a whole lot has changed. Thats not too surprising, when you consider how much of Americans senior management team has been working together for decades American doesnt do much external hiring forA lot has happened since he stepped down and Robert isom and vasu raj sinunu stepped in. Why in the world would you form alliances with Jet Blue and Alaskan ? And the laughable international routes attempted ? Where should I start ? Tel Aviv , Athens , Dubrovnik , Keflavik, New Dehli ,.
