Abstract:

Computing resource DNA associated with a computing resource of a computing system can be received. The computing resource DNA can include one or more computing resource DNA elements representing identifying characteristics of the computing resource. A set of one or more potential matches for the received computing resource DNA can be ascertained from a set of reference data. When one or more potential matches exist, a confidence factor can be calculated for each potential match. The set of potential matches can then be refined. An optimum match for the computing resource DNA can be determined from the set of refined potential matches. The computing resource DNA can then be identified as a representation of the computing resource associated with the optimum match.

Abstract:

An approach is provided that gathers observational traffic data at traffic controller nodes. Each of the traffic controller nodes communicates observational traffic data to other traffic controller nodes via a network. The traffic controller nodes negotiate traffic control parameters. The negotiating process receives timing proposals from the other traffic controller nodes included in the related set. The nodes analyze the proposed timings based on the traffic controller's gathered observational traffic data. The traffic controller node prepares responses in response to the analysis. The traffic controller node sends the negotiation responses to the other traffic controller nodes. The traffic controller node also adjusts its traffic control parameters that control the node's cycle times based on the analysis.

Abstract:

In a system and method for monitoring the integrity of a plurality of endpoint devices in a network, each endpoint device is in communication with a gateway device and transmits a periodic message to this gateway device. When the gateway device fails to receive a periodic message from an endpoint, the gateway device marks the endpoint as in trouble. The next time the gateway device fails to receive a periodic message from the same endpoint, the gateway device marks the endpoint as removed. The gateway is in communication with a central server and sends status update messages to this central server.

Abstract:

The allocation of virtual memory within a virtual machine based upon the previous mapping of virtual memory blocks to physical memory blocks is optimized. Virtual memory blocks that have been mapped to a corresponding physical memory block over virtual memory blocks that are unmapped when fulfilling an allocation request can be reallocated preferentially.

Abstract:

A molded plastic carton end includes a thin face panel reinforced by molded ribs and bounded on four sides by rim sections each comprising a plurality of parallel walls abutting against a face member with closely spaced cross members to add additional stiffness and resistance to crushing. The multiple walls also provide a plurality of parallel layers to receive and hold nails for attaching side, top and bottom members to complete the carton. The walls intersect at the corners, thus forming a large number of individual box sections at each corner, making the corners of the carton end very resistant to deformation. A number of plastic materials and fillers may be used including polyethylene filled with wood and/or a limited amount of a blowing agent.

Abstract:

A beater reed with stub shafts projecting outwardly from its upper end for engagement in any of a series of notches in stanchions of a loom. The reed has a series of spaced-apart bars providing slots therebetween, each bar having a central opening through it. One side of the reed has flat coplanar bar surfaces, while the other side has an angularly extending vertex portion below each slot and each hole. The bar is reversible for use in either of two different types of beating.
