Abstract:
Apparatus and method for measuring weld current utilizing Hall effect sensors. The apparatus is immune from the position sensitivity drawbacks of Hall effect sensor based current memory devices through the utilization of a radially symmetrically disposed orientation of the Hall effect sensor in combination with the utilization of a summing network responsive to the output of each such sensor.
The present invention is essentially comprised of a pair of spaced-apart planar book support elements joined by a hinged spine support element that accommodates the book spine, a pair of book holder slope support elements that are each joined by a hinge to the top edge of a respective book support element, and a closed cord loop element that adjustably co-operates with the lower extremes of each book support element and each slope support element to controllably vary the slope of the planar book support elements during reading use.

Abstract:
A glove donning and removal apparatus for donning, a glove sandwiched between a pair of upper and lower feed sheets is advanced towards a glove dispensing opening. Grabber arms expand the glove hand opening to enable a user to easily insert a hand into the hand opening. For removal, secondary top and bottom feed rolls having adhesively coated top and bottom feed sheets are moved towards a glove removal opening. The adhesive-coated top and bottom feed sheets cooperate to strip a glove from a user's hand when the hand is placed on a glove removal surface in the glove removal opening.
A load cell apparatus and method for forming the same. A load cell apparatus is configured to include a load cell housing and a modular strain gage element that is modularly assembled into the load cell housing. The load cell housing and the modular strain gage element together form a load cell apparatus for use in electronic force sensor applications. The modular strain gage element can be configured from an Advanced Thick Film (ATF) compatible material and can be formed to include one or more contact ledges that allows for a low hysteresis and a proper boundary condition for loading either a tension state or a compression state.
A load cell stamped from a single plate includes a pair of strain gauges mounted on each lateral edge of the plate and a slot extending between laterally opposite strain gauges. The load cell so formed can be widened to provide increased torsional stiffness and resistance to off-center loading while providing good load cell performance in all other respects. In a low profile scale including the load cell, one longitudinal end of the load cell is connected to a load receiving element and the other fixed to a base plate and ground.

Abstract:
A spring formed as a Roberval-based frame of conventional material is combined with a smaller sensor in the form of a deflectable load cell of material such as a ceramic. The combination associates the higher load capacity spring with the sensor capable of performing in a manner substantially free of system error. A method for configuring the assembly for optimal system error rejection is described wherein a transmission beam carrying out a load sharing function exhibits a stress selectively greater than the average stress exhibited by the spring.
