Abstract:

Heterocyclic aromatic compounds are provided which are useful in stimulating endogenous production or release of growth hormone and in treating obesity, osteoporosis (improving bone density) and in improving muscle mass and muscle strength. The heterocyclic aromatic compounds have the structure including pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and all stereoisomers thereof, wherein X is heteroaryl, preferably, âand R , R , R , Y, X , A, B, Z, R , R , R , R and R are as defined herein.

Abstract:

The present invention provides novel 4-aryl-3-aminoquinolin-2-one derivatives having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R, R. sup. 1, R. sup. 2, R. sup. 3, R. sup. 4, R. sup. 5 and R. sup. 6 are as defined herein, or a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof which are modulators of the large conductance calcium-activated K. sup. + channels and are useful in the treatment of disorders which are responsive to the opening of the potassium channels.

Abstract:

A ferrule delivery system for placing a ferrule in a desired position on a flat surface quickly and with ease is disclosed. The system includes an elongated shaft having a tapered end and a delivery end, ferrules loaded on the outer circumference of the shaft, and two sets of ball bearings and two O-rings attached to the shaft for retaining the ferrules on the shaft and for releasing a ferrule from the shaft as needed when a plunger slidably mounted within the shaft and extending outwardly from the delivery end of the shaft is depressed. The present invention also discloses a method for loading a plurality of ferrules onto the outer circumference of the shaft easily and without much effort.
