A method of identifying a device based on GPS coordinates is provided. In one embodiment a device is identified by determining earth coordinates for the device. Once the earth coordinates are determined a unique device identifier is created based at least in part on the earth coordinates of the device. After the unique device identifier has been created, the unique device identifier is communicated to at least one other device.
Delay Management For Distributed Communications Networks
A method for programming the delay for a node in a communication system is disclosed. The node receives a selected delay value and a signal path delay value indicating a delay for signals communicated to the node. The signal path delay comprises an aggregation of transport delays calculated by each node for segments of the communication system between the node and a host node. The method further calculates an additional delay necessary to meet the selected delay value.

Abstract:
Clock Priority Chain Level Systems and Methods are provided. In one embodiment, a method for determining clock priority for a multihost unit distributed antenna system is provided. The method comprises identifying which port of a plurality of ports is receiving a reference clock signal having a highest priority Network Chain Level (NCL) value, wherein the highest priority NCL value indicates a master clock priority level (MCPL) of a host unit providing a Master Clock and a chain level value indicating a chain depth; selecting a system clock reference port from the plurality of ports based on the highest priority NCL value; locking a local clock to a reference clock signal received on the selected system clock reference port; calculating an incremented NCL value based on the highest priority NCL value; and transmitting the incremented NCL value over the plurality of ports.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for IP communication over a distributed antenna system transport are provided. In one embodiment, a method for providing Ethernet connectivity over a distributed antenna system comprises receiving internet protocol (IP) formatted data from an internet protocol device coupled to a remote unit of a distributed antenna system; sampling wireless radio frequency (RF) signals received at the remote unit to produce digitized RF samples; generating a serial data stream for output to a host unit of the distributed antenna system, the serial data stream further comprising a multiple-timeslot communication frame providing a first partition of bandwidth for transporting the digitized RF samples and a second partition of bandwidth for implementing an Ethernet pipe for transporting the IP formatted data.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for a universal base station are provided. In one embodiment, a base station for processing a plurality of communications channels for up to a plurality of network operators comprises a transceiver module communicatively coupled to up to a plurality of network operators, the transceiver module configured to process a plurality of upstream communication channels and a plurality of downstream communication channels based on one or more wireless communication modulation protocols, each of the upstream and downstream communication channels associated with one of the network operators. The transceiver module is configured to output a combined downstream RF signal based on the downstream communication channels. The transceiver module is configured to output a plurality of upstream data packets based on the upstream communication channels, each upstream data packet of the plurality of upstream data packets associated with one of the up to a plurality of network operators.

Abstract:
A method and system for enhancing the performance of wideband digital RF transport systems, which enables the selection of a serial data rate to be transported over a transport medium. Thus, the present invention allows the system to be adapted to different transport mediums, and allows the user to set the serial data rate based on the input bandwidth of the system. The present invention also enables the transport of different bandwidth segments on a plurality of wideband channels by selecting an optimal clock sample rate for each bandwidth segment to be transported. Thus, the present invention allocates the bandwidth segments proportionally so that an optimum amount of bandwidth can be transported at the serial bit rate.
