Abstract:

ORI-inhibited and deposit-resistant motor fuel composition comprises a mixture of hydrocarbons boiling in the range of 90. degree. F. -450. degree. F. and (I) the reaction product of a dibasic acid anhydride, a polyoxyalkylene diamine, and a hydrocarbyl polyamine; and (II) a mixture comprising polyisobutylene ethylene diamine and polyisobutylene in a hydrocarbon solvent. Motor fuel compositions of the instant invention show improved ORI control and valve deposit control in comparison with typical commercial fuel compositions.

Abstract:

A motor fuel composition which inhibits engine ORI and intake valve deposit formation and sticking comprises a mixture of hydrocarbons boiling in the range of 90. degree. F. -450. degree. F. and (I) the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-substituted dibasic acid anhydride and a polyoxyalkylene diamine; (II) a polymeric component which is a polyolefin polymer, copolymer, or the corresponding aminated or hydrogenated polymer or copolymer, or mixtures thereof, of a C. sub. 2 -C. sub. 10 hydrocarbon; (III) a polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight in the range of 500-2000; and (IV) a lubricating oil composition.

A gasoline composition comprising: (a) a major portion of a gasoline fuel, and (b) a minor amount, as a gasoline detergent additive, of a Mannich coupled product of bis-polyisobutylene succinimide of an amine, prepared by: (i) reacting an alkenyl succinimide acid anhydride with an amine to form a bis-succinimide; (ii) treating the bis-succinimide with nonylphenol in the presence of an aldehyde to form a Mannich phenol coupled bis-succinimide product; and (iii) recovering the product Mannich phenol coupled bis-succinimide.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein is a process for lubricating an internal combustion engine with a lubricant composition that may be substantially ash free. The ashless lubricant composition described herein may comprise primary antioxidants, such as aminic diphenyl amines, alkylated phenyl-naphthyl amines, and phenolic antioxidants. The ashless lubricant composition described herein may also comprise sulfur containing products that may work as secondary antioxidants. Other components such as ashless antiwear components, dispersants, pour point depressants, friction modifiers, and metal deactivators may also be used to formulate an ashless lubricant composition according to an embodiment.
