Abstract:

A system, method, and device for configuring an optical aiming device for ballistic drop compensation (BDC). The optical aiming device can include a housing with a reticle pane defining a reticle display field viewable by a user and indicating a zero point, the housing further including a plurality of axially spaced lenses and defining an optical path therethrough. In various embodiments the system includes a display device configured to project an image generated from a display, a processor, and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium. The computer readable data storage medium can include instructions executable by the processor to receive a first set of ballistics input data indicating a first type of ammunition, determine a BDC pattern including at least two holdover marks corresponding to at least two ranges for the first type of ammunition, and project the BDC pattern onto the reticle display field.

Abstract:

A gunsight for aiming a firearm may comprise a display and an eyepiece optic positioned rearward of the display for allowing a user to view the display through the eyepiece optic and a motion sensing module. The eyepiece optic may comprise one or more eyepiece lenses. Circuitry of the gunsight is operatively coupled to the microbolometer and the display. The circuitry may comprise one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more instruction sets. In some embodiments, the one or more instruction sets include instructions configured to be executed by the one or more processors to receive a stream of motion signals from the motion sensing module and display an image to the user in response to the stream of motion signals.

Abstract:

A multi-function gunsight for aiming a firearm comprises a body and a sight arm pivotally coupled to the body for rotation between a stowed orientation and a deployed orientation. The body defining a laser cavity, a starboard cavity, and a port cavity. A laser housing is disposed inside the laser cavity defined by the body. The laser housing supports a semiconductor chip that emits laser light and a collimating lens that collimates the laser light emitted by the semiconductor chip. A forward end of the laser housing is coupled to a spherical bearing. The spherical bearing constrains movement of the laser housing in three translation degrees of freedom corresponding to translation along x, y, and z axes of an x-y-z coordinate system. The spherical bearing allows rotation of the laser housing about at least the x and y axes of the x-y-z coordinate system.

A combination foregrip and laser sight device for use with a rifle or AR pistol. The device having a forward downwardly extending post with a horizontal surface, a rearward downwardly extending post with a horizontal surface, and a notch therebetween for receiving fingers of a left or right hand of a person. A gunsight for aiming a firearm may comprise a microbolometer and an objective optic positioned forward of the microbolometer for focusing electromagnetic waves on the microbolometer. The objective optic may comprise one or more objective lenses. The gunsight may also comprise a display and an eyepiece optic positioned rearward of the display for allowing a user to view the display through the eyepiece optic. The eyepiece optic may comprise one or more eyepiece lenses. Circuitry of the gunsight is operatively coupled to the microbolometer and the display. The circuitry may comprise one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more instruction sets. In some embodiments, the one or more instruction sets include instructions configured to be executed by the one or more processors to cause the gunsight to capture image signals with the microbolometer and display selected images on the display.
