Abstract:

Methods for improving purification and quantification of platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) proteins having structural heterogeneity are provided. Preparation of substantially pure isoforms of these proteins is achieved using TSK sulfopropyl cation exchange chromatography and reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography. A reverse charged capillary zone electrophoresis method enables quantification of substantially pure isoforms of these proteins resulting from endoproteolytic post-translational modifications. Compositions of the invention are substantially purified isoforms of secreted PDGF proteins having structural heterogeneity, more particularly purified intact, single-clipped, and double-clipped isoforms of recombinant PDGF-BB. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising at least one of these substantially purified recombinant PDGF isoforms and methods for their use in promoting wound healing are also provided.

Abstract:

A medical device, gel-cap loading tool. The loading tool facilitates the insertion of a component of a medical device, such as the esophageal flange of a voice prosthesis, within a dissolvable gel cap. The medical device is disposed in a cavity with the component collapsed therein. A gel cap is disposed in the cavity and is axially aligned with the medical device. Abstract:

Systems and methods for writing, changing, authenticating and signing web-based documents use an interactive questionnaire methodology and various databases to obtain document content, confirmation of the finality of a proposed document and participant identity verification. Multiple databases may be accessed and/or created to triangulate or otherwise confirm that a purported party to be bound by a legal instrument is the same party adding information to the document and that all parties to be bound by a contract have signed the same final version of the contract.
