Abstract:

The subject beverage container holder is comprised of the central sections of natural bamboo plants or parts of thermoplastic materials molded to comprise cylinders, selected and configured to have a width (w) to accommodate a beverage container and a depth (d) to accommodate the selected beverage container, while leaving a sufficient portion of the container available for a user to grasp. The natural bamboo is cut to a desirable length having a plurality of segments as may be desired in assembling beverage holders of varying height. The plastic materials may comprise molded sections designed to simulate the bamboo sections. The bottommost segment of the natural bamboo or molded thermoplastic is configured to secure the beverage holder to a base or to anchor the beverage container holder in sand or the like.

Abstract:

A thermal protection system is composed of multiple panels, each of which has an ablative layer of cork thermal protection which is adhesively bonded to a flexible film. The rear surface of the film is coated with two types of adhesive. A first, high strength adhesive is applied at the edges of the cork panel and where aerodynamic forces may be higher. A second, lower strength adhesive is applied to the remaining surface of the film. Following the return of the launch vehicle from space, the thermal protection panels are removed by peeling away the high strength attachment edges with a knife, or other blade tool, and then removing the remainder of the panel, which is only lightly attached to the vehicle skin, without the aid of tools.

Abstract:

A skin or skin system for a robot or robotics assembly is provided that includes one or more integral elastomeric links (or bars) (“IELs”) that are configured for receiving and connection with coupling elements or members (e.g., pivot pins) at the ends of mechanical links/bars. The IELs are also configured to act as a final link of a mechanical linkage made up of these mechanical links to provide a closed chain. For example, the body of each of the IELs, or a portion of the IEL body extending between connection points with the coupling elements of the links/bars of the mechanical linkage, provides a final link in a mechanical linkage forming a closed chain to allow it properly function.

Abstract:

There is provided a method for use by a system including a hardware processor and a memory storing a three-dimensional (3D) character data having a topology mesh describing a character. The method includes stabilizing the 3D character data by removing a translational motion and a rotational motion from the 3D character data, determining a range of motion of a plurality of points of the topology mesh describing the character, identifying a plurality of poses for generating an animation, where each of the plurality of poses includes a unique configuration of the plurality of points of the topology mesh, and creating an animatronic including a plurality of actuators configured to instantiate the plurality of poses for generating the animation.
