Abstract:
A line driver and a method for driving a line are disclosed. The line driver includes a first current device configured to initiate a change in the state of the line and a second current device configured to substantially complete the change. The first current device provides a first current and the second current device provides a second current that is smaller than the first current.
Voice Quality Measurement For Voice Over Ip In A Wireless Local Area Network

Abstract:
In one exemplary embodiment, voice quality of Voice over IP data in a wireless network is measured by first receiving at a detector in the wireless network a set of wireless frames transmitted between a first wireless device and a second wireless device in the wireless network in a predetermined time period. The wireless frames in the set carry Voice over Internet Protocol data. A rating value indicative of voice quality is determined based on the loss rate and burst rate that are determined only using frames received by the detection during monitoring.

Abstract:
Shelf-stable whole grain-containing composite food products, such as savory and sweet snacks and cereals, are continuously produced by preparing a dough comprising cooking whole grain cereal grain particles in the presence of water effective to gelatinize starch content of the whole grain cereal particles to provide gelatinized whole grain cereal grain particles, and mixing the gelatinized whole grain cereal grain particles with starch, whole grain flour, optional minor dough ingredients such as leavening agent, and a food component selected from the group consisting of vegetables and fruits, effective to prepare dough. The dough is formed into discrete dough units, which are baked or fried to provide a whole-grain containing composite food product that is nutritious, low fat, multi-flavored, and a good source of dietary fiber.

Abstract:
In one exemplary embodiment, a process for detecting a phone includes monitoring wirelessly transmitted traffic between first and second stations. Next, the process determines whether the traffic sent in both directions between the first and second stations are close to each other in term of traffic volume. The process identifies a total frames count of a number of frames of an identical frame size transmitted, where the number of frames is greater than any number of frames of a same size. The process calculates the percentage of the count that was just collected out of the count of the total frames. The process identifies the first station as a phone if the calculated percentage is over a first threshold and the total frames count is over a second threshold.
Secure Electronic Transactions Using A Trusted Intermediary With Non-Repudiation Of Receipt And Contents Of Message

US Classification:

Abstract:
Secure electronic transactions using a trusted intermediary with non-repudiation of receipt and contents of message. A system of, and method for, securely transmitting a package from a sender to a recipient, via an intermediary, are described, as is a novel data arrangement, stored in a computer-readable medium. A sender encrypts the message to form an encrypted inner envelope. A waybill is formed that among other things identifies the recipient as the destination and includes information indicating various levels of services desired, e.g., electronic notarization. The waybill and inner envelope are used to form an encrypted outer envelope that is addressed to a trusted intermediary. The intermediary receives the package and decrypts the outer envelope. It is unable to decrypt the inner envelope, due to the keys employed during encryption. The service information is processed, and the package is used to form a second package addressed to the recipient. The recipient decrypts the package and confirms receipt thereof, using a digest of the message. In this way, receipt and opening of the message cannot be properly repudiated by the recipient. An extra level of encryption to form an outer envelope from the intermediary to the recipient may be included, and the various envelopes and confirmation digests may be signed so that the contents and identities may be authenticated.

Visual Question Generation With Answer-Awareness And Region-Reference
A computer-implemented method for visual question generation includes training an alignment module to analyze an image, an answer hint, and a visual hint with respect to the image. A k-nearest neighbors (KNN) graph is constructed by performing an aligned embedding for each region of the image. A node embedding component is generated by using a graph embedding component of the KNN graph. A visual question is generated by sequence decoding each image and graph of the image.
The development of this new material is described this week in the journal RSC: Applied Polymers, in a paper by MIT Professor Thomas J. Wallin, University of Utah Professor Chen Wang, and seven others.

Researchers build new device that is a foundation for quantum computing
"This is desirable in quantum computing," says senior author Chen Wang, assistant professor of physics at UMass Amherst, "because there are many computing scenarios where you want to give plenty of access to data without giving anyone the power to alter or degrade that data."
Wang is a co-author of the study along with Chen Wang, Xiaonan Guo, Bo Liu, and lead researcher Yingying Chen from the Stevens Institute of Technology. The group is collaborating on this and other mobile device-related security and privacy projects.
