Abstract:
Multiple layer structures incorporating at least one polymeric film layer and at least one nonwoven fabric layer and products produced from such structures are provided. The polymeric film layer includes at least one tackifier resin. The at least one tackifier resin may be selected from a variety of resins including synthetic and natural resins. In certain embodiments, the at least one tackifier resin may be present at a concentration of about 0. 1 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of the polymeric layer. The polymeric film layer may include one or more polymeric components selected from a variety of polymeric materials. Exemplary polymeric materials include polyethylene and ethylene vinyl acetate although as discussed hereinafter, a wide range of polymeric joined with a nonwoven fabric. The multiple layer structures may include additional layers made from a variety of materials. The structures exhibit beneficial peel strength properties between the polymeric layer and the nonwoven fabric layer.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to plasticized polyolefin compositions comprising a polyolefin and a non-functionalized plasticizer; wherein the non-functionalized plasticizer may comprise Cto Cparaffins (including branched and normal paraffins) having a pour point of less than −5 C. In one embodiment, the non-functionalized plasticizer is an isoparaffin comprising Cto Cisoparaffins. In another embodiment the non-functionalized plasticizer is a polyalphaolefin comprising Cto Cn-paraffins. The polyolefin may be a polypropylene homopolymer, copolymer, impact copolymer, or blends thereof, and may include a plastomer. Non-limiting examples of desirable article of manufacture made from compositions of the invention include films, tubes, pipes, sheets, fibers, woven and nonwoven fabrics, automotive components, furniture, sporting equipment, food storage containers, transparent and semi-transparent articles, toys, tubing and pipes, and medical devices.

Abstract:
Provided are fabrics, components thereof, and methods for making the same. Woven and nonwoven fabrics are composed of fibers composed of a polyolefin composition. The polyolefin composition is composed of a propylene polymer and up to about 50 wt. %, based on the weight of the fiber, of a hydrocarbon resin. Fibers prepared from polyolefin compositions exhibit favorable elongation properties. Such fibers exhibit advantageous processing and enhanced levels of softness, durability, and elasticity, even at high spinning speeds required for preparing fine fibers.

The present invention is directed generally to the use of propylene-based elastomers in articles. The propylene-based elastomers have isotactic polypropylene crystallinity, a melting point by DSC of 110 C. or less, a heat of fusion of from 5 to 50 J/g, and comprise at least 75 wt % propylene-derived units, at least 6 wt % ethylene-derived units, and optionally diene-derived units. The present invention is also directed to processes for making articles comprising propylene-based elastomers.
