UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fellowship University of California-Berkeley Multiyear fellowship awarded to "exceptional applicants" who also advance the Regents' goals for diversification of the academy--"the top tier of all the outstanding graduate students at Berkeley". MIT Ronald E. McNair Scholarship Award Massachusetts Institute of Technology This scholarship is largely funded by members of BAMIT (Black Alumni/ae of MIT), who to encourage African-American undergraduates at MIT. The Ronald E. McNair Scholarship selected four African-American students who “demonstrated academic excellence and exhibited leadership qualities” resonant of Dr. McNair for each school year. I was a recipient for this award for the 2010- 2011 school year. MIT Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tau Beta Pi at MIT invites the top 1/8 of the junior class and top 1/5 of the senior class to become members of Tau Beta Pi. I was selected for this society in 2011 and formally inducted in 2012. Gates Millennium Scholarship & Fellowship Recipient Gates Millennium Foundation/ United Negro College Fund The Gates Millennium Scholars program provides minority students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline they choose. Continuing Gates Scholars receive funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Recipient Jackie Robinson Foundation The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $7,500 annually to minority students “showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need” to a college or university. Laureates and Leaders MIT Office of Minority Education I was selected to be a participant in MIT’s Office of Minority Education’s Laureates and Leaders program, which is geared towards preparing students of color for graduate studies through faculty talks, peer reviews, and workshops. That program strives to increase the amount of MIT minority graduates going into STEM-related graduate studies.
