Abstract:
A portable information handling system folds a flexible display over a hinge and selectively engages a brake that restricts hinge movement if a predetermined condition exists, such as a predetermined thermal state associate with potential damage to the flexible display. Heating and cooling elements increase or decrease the flexible display thermal state to fall within a constraint that supports folding and releases the hinge brake.
Information Handling System Flexible Display Operating Condition Monitoring And Management
A portable information handling system folds a flexible display over a hinge and selectively adapts operating conditions to maintain constraints associated with folding the flexible display. Operating conditions are monitored and stored, then analyzed to adapt the constraints based upon system usage, such as historical temperature changes, a number of display folds, a number of display touches, and an amount of touch pressure.
Selective Dimming Of Ambient Lighting In Virtual, Augmented, And Mixed Reality (Xr) Applications
Systems and methods for selective dimming of ambient lighting in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (xR) applications. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include one or more processors and a memory coupled to the one or more processors, the memory including program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the one or more processors, cause the IHS to: identify the presence of a light source in a physical space where a user is wearing a Head-Mounted Display (HMD) during operation of an xR application; and darken a portion of an optical filter within the HMD at a position in the user's field-of-view (FOV) corresponding to the light source.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for automatic adjustment of straps of a head mounted display. The head mounted display may include a display device, a plurality of straps, and a controller. The controller may monitor eye location data of at least one eye of a user using at least one eye tracking sensor. The controller may direct the user to move the display device to achieve a desired image being displayed on the display device based on the monitored eye location data and accepted eye location data. The controller may monitor strap pressure data associated with the plurality of straps using a plurality of the pressure sensors. The controller may adjust each strap of the plurality of straps using an adjustment actuator to achieve a desired fit of the head mounted display on the user based on the monitored strap pressure data and accepted strap pressure data.

International Classification:
G06F 1/20 G06F 1/16
Abstract:
In some examples, a computing device may include a first housing coupled to a second housing by one or more hinges. The first housing may include a first set of components and a heat sink in contact with at least one component of the first set of components. The second housing may include a second set of components. The first set of components may generate more heat than the first set of components. A thermal spreader may include a first portion located in the first housing and a second portion located in the second housing. The first portion may be thermally coupled to the second portion. The first portion may, through contact with the heat sink, gather heat generated by the at least one component and transfer the heat to the second portion. The second portion may dissipate at least some of the heat.

Abstract:
A system for determining a loss of calibration in a multi-view stereo imaging system including executing instructions, via a processor, for a multi-view stereo imaging system to process a plural image frame recorded from a plurality of digital cameras of an information handling system and based on plural image calibration parameters and detecting a physical impact event, via a physical sensor, to an information handling system. The system and method execute instructions for a physical impact event detection system to determine, based on physical sensor feedback data, whether a threshold level of a physical impact event has been reached so as to affect calibration of the multi-view stereo imaging system. The detected physical impact event may be a mechanical impact event, a thermal impact event, a vibration mechanical impact event, or another physical impact event.

International Classification:
H04N 5/247 H04N 5/232 H04N 5/225 G03B 17/56
Abstract:
An information handling system includes a multi-camera mounting apparatus. The multi-camera mounting apparatus accommodates a plurality of camera modules in order to capture a three dimensional image. The multi-camera mounting apparatus is comprised of a uni-body bracket made of a combination of materials that have a near net-zero thermal expansion in order to maintain the cameras' locations relative to each other. Additionally, the camera modules may be affixed to the multi-camera mounting apparatus using UV-activated adhesive.
