Dear Sir or Madame: It may seem odd that after 17-years of being a white collard professional in the banking industry, that I am applying for the position of becoming a Honeywell chemical operator! The simple answer is that I had a great job, but had slowly and increasing found myself becoming quite unsatisfied with my position. It was becoming more and more about making profits and squeezing customers for everything I could get out of them, within the confines of my job description, when Id rather than serving them to provide what was truly best for their personal needs. The carnage of the foreclosures as a result of the economic downturn causing unprecedented hardship on hardworking Americans and then being forced to put those good folks out of their homes and onto the street was more that I could bear. With this explained, I am sure you can understand my dilemma. My career stopped being something that I truly enjoyed and became something which I truly dreaded. For me, it became a significantly disturbing personal burden that began following me home, keeping me up at night, seriously affecting my health and more importantly my own family and relationships. It is very important to me to be able to know that at the end of the day, I make a difference in someones life, be it big or small. I only know how to do any job assigned to me the correct way, which is 100% to the best of my ability. I know that perfection is impossible, but it is my goal to strive to meet perfection in whatever it is that I may be trying to accomplish. This is just the way that I was raised from when I was old enough to work. If you are hired to do a job and you dont do that job to the very best of your ability, then its just like stealing from that employer! That work philosophy has followed me all the days of my life! I do not have a degree in a chemical or a true science related field! I do have years experience in both the management of people and the management of money. I am an intelligent person and am a quick study. I feel that I could fit into your organization quickly and become a result producing asset of the company in a very short period of time. As I mentioned elsewhere, the work ethic of doing the best job I can 100% of the time is central to my personal work ethic. In fact, if for some reason beyond my control, I am NOT able to perform at and above the level which I feel is expected of me, I will become dissatisfied quite quickly. Honestly, this is one of the most significant factors in my choosing to relinquish a 17-year career. Factors beyond my control had begun to negatively influence the level of performance at which I personally felt I needed to be able to maintain & serve my customers at. All of my performance reviews were above average, so I basically just boiled down to holding myself to a higher standard, even higher than what the companys expectations were. Needless to say, this is a fairly unique situation to find ones self in and I chose to leave, rather than to stay and compromise my principals. Since
