Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide a microfluidic chip to facilitate DNA analysis. The microfluidic chip includes a first domain configured for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of DNA fragments, a dilution domain coupled to the first domain to dilute a PCR mixture received from the first domain, and a second domain that is coupled to the dilution domain so as to receive the amplified DNA fragments. The second domain includes a separation channel that is configured to perform electrophoretic separation of the amplified DNA fragments. In addition, the disclosure provides a DNA analyzer to act on the microfluidic chip to perform an integrated single chip DNA analysis.

Abstract:
A power meter for non-destructively measuring the power of a high energy er beam. The power meter includes a cell disposed in the flow path of a gas containing a laser radiation-absorbing species. The absorption coefficient of the absorbing species is small enough to allow the beam to pass through the cell essentially unaltered. The concentration of the absorbing species is modulated to modulate its absorption of the laser beam power and produce acoustic waves in the gas which can be detected and measured to give an absolute measurement of the power in the high energy laser beam.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for processing of messages subject to dead letter queues in representational state transfer (“REST”) architectures to prevent data loss in cloud-based environments. For example, as opposed to conventional RESTful application programming interface (“API”) approaches to handling message failures, the systems and methods provide a new system component to handle these failures. Specifically, instead of relying on a conventional dead letter queue (e.g., requiring a system to read the queue via lambda functions), the systems and methods create a representative system file based on any REST call in which a failure is detected.
