Abstract:

A hand-held, mobile computing system for displaying content. The system includes a first display screen, a second display screen, a microprocessor, and a housing. The first and second display screens are movable relative to one another. The microprocessor is communicatively linked to the first and second display screens. Further, the microprocessor is adapted to prompt display of desired content on the first and second display screens such that content displayed on the first display screen correlates with content displayed on the second display screen, resulting in an enhanced content display. The housing maintains the first microprocessor, is physically connected to at least one of the first and second display screens, and is sized to fit within a user's hands.

Abstract:

A computing device having a display screen and a speech recognition module, and related method of operation. Received audio input is processed with the speech recognition module to convert the received audio input to text. At least a portion of the converted audio input is displayed as text on the display screen, including a first segment having a first format and a second segment having a second format. The first segment text is indicative of more recently received audio input as compared to the second segment. The first format is visually different from the second format. With this method, the user can readily distinguish the most recently spoken words when viewing the display screen.

Abstract:

A hand-held, mobile personal computing device including a cover and a base including a cover housing, a microphone, and a speaker. The microphone is supported by the cover housing, as is the speaker. The base includes a base housing, a display, and a microprocessor. The display is supported by the base housing and is in an electronic communication with the display. The microprocessor is adapted to perform mobile telephone operations. The cover housing is removably attached to the base housing to provide an attached state and a detached state. The microphone and speaker are communicatively linked to the microprocessor in both the attached and detached states, such that the cover is operable by a user as a telephone in either state.

Abstract:

A method and device for altering content displayed on a display screen of a hand-held display device by a user handling the hand-held device. The method includes capturing a first user image of the user relative to the device. A second user image of the user relative to the device is subsequently captured. A spatial attribute of the first user image is compared with a corresponding spatial attribute of the second user image. Finally, content displayed on the display screen is altered based upon the comparison. In one embodiment, the content displayed on the display screen is altered by zooming, panning, or tilting (i.e., scrolling) the displayed content.

A mobile personal computer including a case, a display device, a speech recognition system, a movement sensor, a microprocessor, and a power source. The case is sized for handling by a single, adult human hand and maintains the various other components. The display device is adapted to generate a displayed image. The speech recognition system includes a microphone for collecting sound waves generated by a user's speech. The movement sensor is mounted to the case and is adapted to generate spatial-related information of the case relative to earth. The microprocessor is electronically connected to the display device, the speech recognition system, and the movement sensor. The microprocessor utilizes a personal computer operating system to perform computing operations, and is adapted to transition from a first operational mode to a second operational mode in response to information signaled from the movement sensor.
