Abstract:

A light filter includes exactly one partially reflective layer having a top and a bottom and a wedge-shaped profile defining a wedge direction. First and second transparent layers are disposed on the top and bottom, respectively, of the partially reflective layer, each transparent layer including at least two dielectric layers of two different materials, each dielectric layer having a wedge-shaped profile oriented in the wedge direction. Abstract:

A wire clip is constructed as a one piece flexible elongate plastic molded strip having a central loop-shaped wire retaining portion and an attachment means for fastening its two ends in unison to a workpiece surface. Each end has a slot extending crosswise to the length of the elongate plastic molded strip; the open end of the two slots face in opposite directions. The ends are assembled together with their slots in alignment. The two ends are formed with slanting complementary surfaces which mate together to provide a sliding wedge action as a fastening pin is driven therethrough.

Abstract:

There is disclosed a new and improved swivel connector assembly for connecting a member to be pivoted to a pivot. The assembly includes just two components which may be readily assembled, a socketed assembly and a retaining sleeve. The socketed assembly has a forward portion including a socket forming a bearing seat and a rearward portion having a cylindrically shaped socket. A slot which extends from a point forward of the bearing seat center to and through the rearward portion to form bifurcated opposed socketed portions which may be separated to enlarge the bearing seat and cylindrically shaped socket to permit ready assembly of the same to a pivot ball and a member to be pivoted. The sleeve is arranged to be axially slid over the socketed rearward portion to thereby maintain the assembly in assembled relation.

An aqueous composition includes a normally biodegradable component and contains tertiary butyl hydroquinone to inhibit microbial growth. Oxidative rancidity is also controlled when the composition has a fat or oil content. Abstract:

A food processing method and apparatus removes surface and absorbed fluids from individual food items during the commercial processing of continuous supplies or batches thereof. The food items are continuously and simultaneously tumbled and contacted with stream of material having an affinity for either or both of aqueous liquids and oily liquids. A vibration device is associated with an inclined run of the stream of material and accomplishes a tumbling of the individual food items to permit substantially all of their surface area to contact the stream of material. An optional heating member may be positioned in the vicinity of the inclined run to supply heat to the fluid on or within the food pieces. A fluid removal mechanism may be positioned on the apparatus for removing and collecting the fluid from the stream of material.
