Abstract:

A discrete multitone stacked-carrier spread spectrum communication method is based on frequency domain spreading including multiplication of a baseband signal by a set of superimposed, or stacked, complex sinusoid carrier waves. In a preferred embodiment, the spreading involves energizing the bins of a large Fast Fourier transform (FFT). This provides a considerable savings in computational complexity for moderate output FFT sizes. Point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint (nodeless) network topologies are possible. A code-nulling method is included for interference cancellation and enhanced signal separation by exploiting the spectral diversity of the various sources. The basic method may be extended to include multielement antenna array nulling methods for interference cancellation and enhanced signal separation using spatial separation. Such methods permit directive and retrodirective transmission systems that adapt or can be adapted to the radio environment. Such systems are compatible with bandwidth-on-demand and higher-order modulation formats and use advanced adaptation algorithms.

Abstract:

An article having a surface comprising an olefin polymer is marked with indicia using an ink comprising a binder capable of substantially complete cure at a temperature of about 100. degree. to 300. degree. C. for less than about 10 minutes and then heated to cure the binder. The indicia are permanent, e. g. are resistant to being rubbed off and are solvent resistant. Heat-recoverable marker sleeves having such permanent indicia are particularly useful for marking wires, e. g. in aircraft harnessing.

Abstract:

Systems and method including receiving at a server, commute information, said commute information including at least a start location and a destination location and a drive time. Requesting current transit time for the commute information from a remote server, said remote server operable to provide substantially real-time commute information. Receiving at said server the current transit time and comparing the current transit time the drive time, and sending a notification in response to said comparing. Some embodiments may include determining if the current transit time is at or below the drive time and sending messages by email, text message or a web-site posting.
