A modular power source includes an outer housing, a generator module, and a control module. The generator module and the control module are electrically interconnected and are positioned to lie within a module space formed within the outer housing. Electricity is produced by the generator module during rotation of the modular power source.
A device for drilling holes in a ceiling is provided. The device has a base that is movable over a floor and positionable on a grid that aligns a drill or tool with desired hole positions on a ceiling. An actuator may move the tool relative to the ceiling.
A wheeled scaffold assembly includes a locking mechanism to immobilize a scaffold after the scaffold has been positioned to be used as a work platform. The scaffold assembly may include multiple locking mechanisms. Further, the locking mechanism may include an indication to provide visual confirmation that the locking mechanism is appropriately engaged.
A workpiece holder for a lathe includes a receptacle having a workpiece-receiving-cavity that has a polygonal cross-section when viewed along an axis of rotation. The receptacle is sized to receive workpiece stock having a polygonal cross-section.
The invention relates to a latch mechanism for coupling a horizontal platform at a selected vertical position on a supporting structure, wherein the mechanism includes a frame member having a plurality of walls arranged to define an enclosed area and a multi-sided bracket for engaging the supporting structure to couple the frame member to the supporting structure. A locking bar extends through the frame member and bracket to engage with the supporting member and is movable between a locking position and an unlocking position. A blocking plate is coupled to the frame member and positioned outside of the enclosed area and is movable by gravity between a blocking position to prevent movement of the locking bar to the unlocking position and a releasing position to allow movement of the locking bar to the unlocking position. The blocking plate includes a aperture aligned for receiving the locking means when in the unlocking position, which aperture is moved downwardly by gravity forces to present a solid portion in alignment with the locking bar when the locking bar is moved to the locking position, thus preventing the locking bar from being withdrawn into the blocking plate and out of the support structure.
A safety device from a scaffold latch, providing a movable abutment arm which is supported to have two positions, a first position providing a blocking abutment which blocks latch-releasing withdrawal movement of the latch pin, and a second position in which it permits such latch-release movement of the latch pin, the abutment arm being co-operative with the release lever of the latch assembly to cause its movement to its second position automatically as the latch release lever is being actuated; and a spring automatically holds the safety's abutment arm in its first (pin-blocking) position unless the pin-release lever is being actuated.
A caster is provided that includes a wheel rotatable about a wheel axis of rotation, a housing, a locking arm linked to the housing, and a locking bar linked to the housing. The housing includes a housing side wall and a housing detent formed in the housing side wall. The locking arm is movable between an unlocked position to permit the wheel to rotate about its wheel axis of rotation and a locked position to prevent or substantially restrict rotation of the wheel about its wheel axis of rotation. The locking arm is linked to the wheel so that movement of the locking arm between the locked and unlocked positions moves the wheel. The locking arm includes a locking arm side wall and a flared portion formed in the locking arm side wall and extending outwardly toward the housing side wall, the flared portion is engaged with the housing detent when the locking arm is in the locked position and disengaged from the housing detent when the locking arm is in the unlocked position. The locking bar includes a brake facing toward the wheel and engaging the wheel when the locking arm is situated in the locked position to prevent or substantially restrict rotation of the wheel about its wheel axis of rotation. The brake is an indentation formed in the locking bar.
