A wheel board vehicle includes a frame having thereon a centrally mounted planar board on which a rider stands while riding the vehicle. At a front end of the frame a single support arm extends that has an outer end to which a front yoke is pivotably attached. The front yoke carries a front wheel. At a rear end, stationary support arms carry a rear wheel. A manually operated brake member is attached to the frame near the rear wheel adjacent a leg of the rider while the rider is riding the vehicle, and a stationary handle is attached to the frame and oriented generally vertically while the rider rides the vehicle.

Abstract:
A door having a pneumatic sensing edge is operated automatically to open when an object and the edge make contact. An optical pressure switch in fluid communication with gas forced from the edge on contact with the object initiates the operation of a door opener. The optical pressure switch includes a membrane having a portion that interrupts a light beam when the membrane flexes due to the increase gas pressure over ambient pressure as gas is forced from the edge.

Abstract:
A method of designing and manufacturing a magnetic separation apparatus. Past separators generally had poor power efficiency, poor throughput performance, and/or were bulky. Designing the magnetic separator of the present invention involves selecting a diameter and height for a separation container and superconducting coil by optimizing at least one parameter from a group of parameters. The magnetic separation apparatus includes a superconducting electromagnet and separation container having a diameter of about 60 inches, a height of about 40 inches, an inlet port, an outlet port, and removable matrix modules. The electromagnet generates a magnetic field strength within the separation container of greater than 3 Tesla. The optimized separation container volume, the high magnetic field strength, and the matrix modules allow the magnetic separation apparatus to have greatly increased slurry processing capacity.
A respiration monitor includes a sensing element having a pressure chamber filled with gas. The sensing element is adapted to be placed in contact with a breathing subject, with the pressure in the chamber increasing as the subject inhales and decreasing as the subject exhales. A pressure switch in communication with the pressure chamber opens as the subject exhales and closes as the subject inhales to control the operation of a timing circuit. The timing circuit includes an audio alarm mechanism activated when the switch is not closed within a predetermined threshold period. The chamber has at least one gas port which places the chamber in communication with ambient air pressure, so that within a pressure equalization time interval the pressure within the chamber equalizes to that of ambient air pressure and the switch is opened. This port is sized so that the pressure equalization time interval is longer than the normal cycle of inhalation and exhalation of the subject but shorter than the predetermined threshold period. The size, or number openings, comprising the port is sufficiently restrictive so that changes in pressure within the gas chamber are detected, causing the switch to operate to open or close as required.
This invention is an electronic lamp control circuit for connection between a lamp bulb and a wall receptacle controlled by a wall switch. The lamp control circuit includes switching circuitry which permits complete control of the lamp from either the wall switch or a switch included in the lamp control circuit. The lamp control circuit permits a user to turn off the lamp by actuating the wall switch and to later turn on the lamp by actuating the lamp control switch and to turn off the lamp with the lamp control switch and later turn on the lamp using only the wall switch.

Abstract:
A limousine type vehicle includes a standard electrical system, a coach section with an auxiliary electrical system, and an electric power generation system which has first and second batteries isolated from each other during normal operation of the vehicle's engine. The first battery is electrically connected to the engine to supply electric power for the operation of the engine and the standard electrical system, and the second battery is electrically connected to the auxiliary electrical system to supply electric power for the operation of said auxiliary electrical system. A first alternator is electrically connected to the first battery to recharge said first battery during operation of the engine, and a second alternator is electrically connected to the second battery to recharge said second battery during operation of the engine. These alternators are electrically isolated from each other during normal operation of the engine, and they are mechanically coupled together and to the engine, so that the operation of the engine drives both the first and second alternators simultaneously.

Abstract:
An arbitration device for shared RAM which arbitrates between first and second requests from first and second processors having respectively different first and second clocks and bus widths which may differ from that of shared RAM. A synchronizer synchronizes the first access request to the second clock so as to obtain clock-synchronized access requests, one of the clock-synchronized access requests is delayed by a fractional part of the second clock so as to yield time-offset access requests, and a hold-off circuit grants access to a first-to-arrive time-offset access request and holds off processing of a second-to arrive time-offset access request until processing of the first access request is complete. A shared RAM interface, responsive to access grant signals from the hold off circuit, gives access to the shared RAM in correspondence to the access grant signal. The shared RAM interface includes a strobe generator for generating upper and lower strobe signals for strobing upper and lower parts of the differently-widthed bus onto shared RAM.
