Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a power module that has a housing with an interior chamber and a plurality of switch modules interconnected to facilitate switching power to a load. Each of the plurality of switch modules comprises at least one transistor and at least one diode mounted within the interior chamber and both the at least one transistor and the at least one diode are majority carrier devices, are formed of a wide bandgap material system, or both. The switching modules may be arranged in virtually any fashion depending on the application. For example, the switching modules may be arranged in a six-pack, full H-bridge, half H-bridge, single switch or the like.

Abstract:

4,4-dihalohexahydrophthalic anhydrides of the formula ##STR1## where Y is chlorine or fluorine, are prepared by the reaction of hydrogen fluoride with 4-chlorotetrahydrophthalic anhydride. The 4,4-dihalohexahydrophthalic anhydrides of this invention can be dehydrohalogenated by reaction with basic alumina to prepare a mixture of 4-fluorotetrahydrophthalic anhydride isomers of the formula ##STR2## The 4-fluorotetrahydrophthalic anhydrides can then be dehydrogenated by reaction with a dehydrogenation catalyst to prepare 4-fluorophthalic anhydride.

Abstract:

The invention relates to a serum-free cell culture perfusion medium comprising the medium components subgrouped into at least three separate aqueous concentrated feeds and a diluent, wherein the resulting serum-free cell culture perfusion medium is pH-adjusting to neutral pH upon mixing. Also provided is a method of preparing said serum-free cell culture perfusion medium. The invention further relates to methods of culturing mammalian cells or producing a protein of interest in perfusion culture using said serum-free cell culture perfusion medium that achieve high productivity at a low cell specific perfusion rate. The invention further relates to the use of the new and improved serum-free cell culture perfusion medium to control osmolality in a perfusion cell culture, wherein increasing osmolality results in an increase in total productivity and/or cell specific productivity by suppressing cell growth during cell culture, e.g., during production phase of perfusion cell culture. Suppression of cell growth particularly reduces or eliminates the need for wasteful cell bleed.

The invention relates to a method of culturing mammalian cells expressing a heterologous protein in a perfusion cell culture comprising increasing the potassium concentration and decreasing the molar ratio of sodium to potassium to reduce wasteful cell bleed and to increase protein production. A power converter module includes an active metal braze (AMB) substrate, power converter circuitry, and a housing. The AMB substrate includes an aluminum nitride base layer, a first conductive layer on a first surface of the aluminum nitride base layer, and a second conductive layer on a second surface of the aluminum nitride base layer opposite the first surface. The power converter circuitry includes a number of silicon carbide switching components coupled to one another via the first conductive layer. The housing is over the power converter circuitry and the AMB substrate. By using an AMB substrate with an aluminum nitride base layer, the thermal dissipation characteristics of the power converter module may be substantially improved while maintaining the structural integrity of the power converter module.
