Abstract:

A system and method for location-based configuration of an information handling system are disclosed. A method may include detecting an available network for communication with the information handling system. Based on at least the detected available network, a current location of the information handling system may be determined. Based on the determined current location of the information handling system, one or more parameters of the information handling system associated with the determined current location may be automatically configured.

Abstract:

A method includes determining, during auxiliary power operating mode of an information handling system, devices connected to peripheral component interconnect (PCI) slots and identifying, via a controller of the IHS, when a Virtual Ethernet Bridge (VEB) is present on a first communication path, which indicates that a high power consuming device with sideband enablement is present in a corresponding one of the PCI slots. The method includes configuring, via the first communication path, an uplink port on the VEB, collecting information about the VEB, including a VEB MAC address and capabilities of the VEB, setting a VLAN/MAC filter rule for NC-SI pass-through in the VEB, and configuring an intermediate device within a second communication path between the controller and the VEB for NC-SI pass-through utilizing a management MAC address, enabling NC-SI pass-through of traffic routed between the controller and the VEB.

Abstract:

An information handling system may implement a method for automatically provisioning multi-tenant wireless local area networks. The method may include detecting initiation, by a client in a given tenant, of a provisioning of a wireless local area network (LAN), and creating, automatically and in response to the detecting, a secure wireless LAN, where the LAN is to be isolated from clients in other tenants. Creating the secure wireless LAN may include allocating a virtual local area network (VLAN) on behalf of the tenant, associating the VLAN with the tenant, and associating a locally unique identifier with the VLAN. The method may also include determining, subsequent to the creating, that a disconnection condition for the VLAN has been met, and dismantling, automatically and in response to the determination, the VLAN, where dismantling the VLAN may include disassociating the locally unique identifier from the VLAN, and deallocating the VLAN.
