Abstract:A system and method is disclosed for managing objects in accordance with the Common Information Model. The system and method disclosed herein includes an abstract layer that receives requests from the CIM clients through the CIM Object Manager. After the receipt of a request, the abstract layer retrieves the associated XML registration file for the generation of a command to the managed object that is the target of the request. After the command is executed with respect to the managed object, the requested data is returned to the abstract layer. The data returned to the abstract layer is in the form of untransformed XML content. The abstract layer retrieves an XSL transformation file and transforms the XML content into an instance of CIM data and transfers this data to the CIM Object Manager.

Abstract:An information handling system includes a processor, system memory, and a storage medium. The storage medium includes an object manager that is accessible to a client management application. The object manager includes first and second sets of class instances instantiated in first and second vendor namespaces, respectively. Abstract:A system and method for identifying duplicate or similar class instances existing in two or more Common Information Model (CIM) namespaces, accreting them, and thereafter returning a set of class instances and their associated information based on predetermined criteria. In different embodiments of the invention, an abstraction layer is implemented to provide a consolidation namespace operable to aggregate CIM instance data from two or more namespaces into a single namespace. A CIM client management application can then access and search the resulting consolidation namespace for all CIM class instances instead of iteratively browsing individual namespaces. A consolidation provider queries CIM namespaces to enumerate instances of CIM namespaces, which are consolidated in the Interop namespace, and similarly enumerates class instance data, which is consolidated in the consolidation namespace. An algorithm is implemented to determine Get operations for client enumeration requests including, but not limited to, all CIM class instances from all CIM namespaces predetermined prioritization of CIM namespaces, and key value comparison.

Abstract:A system and method is disclosed for providing Common Information Model (CIM) clients access to classes and metadata that do not reside in the same CIM namespace. An association class is defined to the CIM Object Manager (CIMOM) with references to two associated classes. Each association instance maps an instance of a class described by the antecedent to an instance of a class described by a dependent. These association class instances are referenced as a shadow association class and are served by a shadow provider. A separate class definition file is created to support the shadow associations, which mirrors the original class definition but identifies a shadow provider to service the shadow associations. Association classes that span namespaces are identified and added to the shadow class definition file. At the same time, a mapping file is created which maps the shadow namespace/class to the actual, or base, namespace/class. Requests made to the CIMOM for a shadow association trigger the registered shadow provider, which finds the requested shadow association in the map and submits a request to the base association class provider, which then returns the requested results.

Abstract:Systems and methods for reducing problems and disadvantages associated with network boots are disclosed. In accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, an information handling system comprises a processor, a memory communicatively coupled to the processor, and an access controller communicatively coupled to the processor. The access controller has stored thereon a general pre-boot file and configured to receive boot configuration information from a management server. The access controller further configured to generate a boot script according to the boot configuration information and generate a specific pre-boot file based on the general pre-boot file and the boot script. The access controller is further configured to configure the information handling system to boot to a target based on the specific pre-boot file.
