Abstract:

A paving mat for use in a paved surface includes a fibrous mat in the form of a paving mat. The fibrous mat includes a fibrous matrix containing a mixture of polymer fibers, first mineral fibers having a first median length, and second mineral fibers having a second median length that is different from the first median length. In another embodiment, the paving mat includes a fibrous mat including a fibrous matrix which is bonded together by a binder. In one embodiment, the binder is a mixture of different binders. The fibrous matrix includes a mixture of mineral fibers in an amount within a range of from 61 wt % to 85 wt % and polymer fibers in an amount within a range of from 15 wt % to 39 wt %. The polymer fibers have a melting point greater than 320 F. (160 C. ). The mat has a stiffness in the machine direction within a range of from 65 g-cm to 110 g-cm.

Abstract:

Delivery of alarm system event data and audio over hybrid networks is described. In one embodiment, delivering alarm system event data includes detecting an alarm event and communicating alarm event data to a message processing gateway, evaluating service parameters of the alarm system and conditions of the alarm event data, forwarding the alarm event data and a voice channel code to a telecommunications switch, and opening a voice channel between the telecommunications switch and a central alarm monitoring station. In other aspects, delivering alarm system event data and connecting a voice channel further includes determining whether the voice channel remains open, forwarding a routing code to the alarm system, opening a voice channel between the alarm system and the telecommunications switch, and bridging the voice channel between the telecommunications switch and the central alarm monitoring station and the voice channel between the alarm system and the telecommunications switch.

Abstract:

Delivery of alarm system event data and audio. In certain aspects, a method for delivery of alarm system event data is described, including communicating alarm event data from an alarm system to a private telecommunications switch. In turn, the alarm event data may be communicated to a message processing gateway. The message processing gateway evaluates service parameters of the alarm system and, in certain cases, instructs the private telecommunications switch to contact a central alarm monitoring station if certain service parameters are met. In additional aspects, private telecommunications switch opens a voice channel between the private telecommunications switch and the central alarm monitoring station and communicates the alarm event data. Additionally, in response to a determination that a voice channel between the private telecommunications switch and the central alarm monitoring station remains open, the private telecommunications switch may also bridge the voice channel to the alarm system.

Abstract:

A device for selectively blocking unauthorized reverse viewing to the inside of a room through a door peephole comprising a main body, enclosure plate, actuating rod and rotating disc. The actuating rod and rotating disc include a first and a second locking means, respectively, which engage each other. When the actuating rod is moved in a first direction, the rotating disc rotates to align the opening of the rotating disc with the opening of the enclosure plate to allow visual access. When the actuating rod is moved in a second direction, the opening of the rotating disc will misalign the opening of the enclosure plate to block visual access. The device remains either in an open or in a closed position until a person inside the room moves the actuating rod. The device functions without an actuating rod if a user manually turns the rotating disc with his finger.

A wireless tracking device can operate in two or more modes in connection with determining location of the wireless tracking device. In one mode, the wireless tracking device can determine location by establishing communication with an alarm panel using a short-range transceiver. The alarm panel can have a location that is known at the alarm panel or at a remote server, for example. Abstract:

An alarm system monitors a home, business, or other property for fire, burglary, break-in, or other event that may warrant raising an alarm. The alarm system is configured to detect tampering, whereby someone intentionally impedes the ability of the system to raise an alarm or otherwise interferes the system's operation. An alarm panel of the alarm system communicates with a server. At certain times, the alarm system transmits a series of packets to the server using a unidirectional protocol. Upon receipt of one of the packets, the server alternates between monitoring for an incoming packet and ignoring any incoming packets. Detection of an incoming packet during a monitoring time period causes the server to transition to ignoring packets for a sleep period of time. Completion of the sleep period of time causes the server to return to monitoring for the monitoring period of time.
