System And Method For Automated Benchmarking For The Recognition Of Best Medical Practices And Products And For Establishing Standards For Medical Procedures
A system for the collection, management, and dissemination of information relating at least to a medical procedure is disclosed. The system includes a user interface adapted to provide raw data information at least about one of a patient, the medical procedure, and a result of the medical procedure. A medical device communicates with the user interface, receives the raw data information from the user interface, and generates operational information during use. A central database communicates at least with the medical device and receives data from the medical device. The central database is used to create related entries based on the raw data information and the operational information and optionally transmits the related entry to the medical device or the medical device user. The related entry includes information that provides guidance based on previously tabulated, related medical procedures. A system for the iterative analysis of medical standards is also disclosed along with methods for the evaluation of medical procedures and standards.

Abstract:
An interface device is used to collect information relating to procedures. The interface device is enabled to communicate with a first device, a second device and an information system. The interface device may be configured to receive before, during and/or after performance of each procedure, a set of personal identification information from the first device, the second device and/or the information system, and automatically, during and/or after performance of each procedure, a first set of procedure information from the first device and a second set of procedure information from the second device. The set of patient identification information is matched automatically with the first and second sets of procedure information related thereto for each procedure performed. A database automatically stores, as a record therein, the set of patient identification information and the first and the second sets of procedure information related thereto for each of the procedures performed.

Abstract:
A system for collecting, managing and disseminating information relating to medical procedures includes a central computer and a plurality of medical devices each in communication with an injector, a scanner, a hospital system and/or at least one other device. Each medical device receives (I) before a procedure is performed, patient identification information from a user interface, the scanner and/or the hospital system and (II) during and/or after the procedure, injection information from the injector and imaging study information from the scanner. Each medical device has an associated database for storing as a record therein the patient identification information, the injection information and the imaging study information for each procedure performed on each patient. The central computer remotely links to each medical device for accessing, collecting and storing in a related database the records transmitted therefrom and for analyzing the records and creating therefrom at least one related entry based thereon.
