Abstract:

Methods of forming a field effect transistor by forming a gate electrode on a semiconductor substrate and forming aluminum oxide spacers on sidewalls of the gate electrode. Source and drain region dopants of first conductivity type are implanted into the semiconductor substrate using the aluminum oxide spacers as an implant mask. Thereafter, the aluminum oxide spacers are selectively removed by exposing them to tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH). The step of selectively removing the aluminum oxide spacers may include exposing the aluminum oxide spacers to tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide having a temperature of about 80 C.

Systems, methods, and media for connecting emergency communications are provided. For example, the methods can include: receiving an emergency communication at a particular public safety answering point from a caller directed to the particular public safety answering point by a location-to-service system; creating a conference on a conference system in response to the particular public safety answering point accepting the emergency communication; selecting a particular call-taker of a plurality of call-takers; sending the particular call-taker an invitation to accept the emergency communication; in response to receiving an indication that the particular call-taker has accepted the emergency communication, connecting the selected call-taker to the conference; connecting the caller to the conference; determining the location of the caller; querying the location-to-service system to identify at least one particular emergency responder of a plurality of emergency responders; and connecting at least one of the at least one particular emergency responder to the conference.

Abstract:

An activated carbon filter system for a clothes cleaning apparatus of the type using cleaning fluid for cleaning dirty clothes. The system comprises a receptacle unit. A structure is for fluidly connecting the receptacle unit to the clothes cleaning apparatus, so as to allow the cleaning fluid to travel therethrough. A prefilter is within the receptacle unit for separating large contaminant dirt particles from the cleaning fluid during a first state washing cycle. A filter assembly is within the receptacle unit for separating small contaminant dirt particles from the cleaning fluid after the cleaning fluid passes through the prefilter during a second state washing cycle. When placed into a drain cycle, the large contaminant dirt particles on the prefilter and the dirty cleaning fluid can be flushed out from the receptacle unit into a drain tank, allowing the filter assembly to be removed from the receptacle unit, placed into the drain tank to be cleaned out by boiling and then replaced back into the receptacle unit to be used again.

Abstract:

A field emitter array magnetic sensor (FEAMS) device, comprising: an anode; a base plate member having on a first side thereof a plurality of gated field emitter elements thereon, in spaced proximal relationship to the anode. The plurality of gated field emitter elements and the anode structure are arranged so that each of the gated field emitter elements is in electron emitting relationship to varying electron impingement sites depending on intensity of the magnetic field on the gated field emitter element. The device includes structure for sensing the locations of the anode structure electron impingement sites receiving electrons from the plurality of gated field emitter elements, and determining the strength and orientation of the magnetic field. Also disclosed are various anode configurations which may be usefully employed in the FEAMS device of the invention.

Techniques for selective measurement and monitoring of boric acid concentrations in processing solutions are provided. Methods include the use of a complexing agent that reacts with hydrolyzing ions, for example, ethylenediaminetetraacetic (EDTA) acid salts in potentiometric titration. In such methods, a boric acid concentration in a processing solution can be accurately measured and monitored.
