Abstract:

Methods and systems are provided for providing network services using at least one processor, such as a network operations center that interfaces a base network. The network operations center may receive information identifying a user authorized to administer a first processor, which may be separate from the network operations center, and a base address that is routable in the base network. The network operations center may provide through the base network code and information for self-configuring the first processor as a gateway that interfaces the base network at the base address. The first processor may execute the provided code to self-configure itself as the gateway based on the provided information. The network operations center may then provide through the base network to the first processor additional information enabling at least one tunnel through the base network to a second processor, which may also be separate from the network operations center, when the first and second processors each provide to the network operations center a consent for enabling the tunnel.

A wireless apparatus and method for the measurement and monitoring of bioelectric signal patterns associated with EEG, EOG and EMG readings is provided. The apparatus is comprised of at least one measurement device employing the use of three bioelectric sensing electrodes, wherein at least one of the electrodes is configured for secure placement within the ear canal of an individual under medical surveillance. Acoustic stimulation may be provided directly into the ear canal of the individual via an auditory stimulus emitted from the measurement device for evoking brain activity and the subsequent measurement of bioelectric signal patterns associated with the evoked activity.

Abstract:

A washing machine or dishwasher includes means for admixing with waste wash water a suitable chemical compound to convert the soluble phosphate in the wash water to insoluble form before discharge of the waste solution to a sewer, drain or other means of disposal. Among the useful chemical compounds employed are calcium chloride, calcium hydroxide and aluminum sulfate, which convert soluble phosphates, including tripolyphosphate and pyrophosphate salts, to insoluble materials, which may be removed from the effluent. Also within the invention are accessories for use with conventional washing apparatuses for effecting the insolubilization reaction, and corresponding processes.
