  • Abstract:
    A griddle for cooking a food product includes an upper surface, a lower surface, a first side, a second side, a front side and a rear side. A serpentine passageway is formed on the lower surface. A collector tank is secured directly to the lower surface adjacent to the first side of the griddle. The collector tank is in communication with the serpentine passageway formed on the lower surface. A boiler is secured directly to the lower surface adjacent to the second side of the griddle. The boiler is in communication with the serpentine passageway formed on the lower surface. Heat may be applied directly to at least one of the collector tank and the boiler for heating a fluid disposed therein and supplying the heated fluid to the serpentine passageway for providing heat for cooking a food product disposed on the upper surface of the griddle.

    A griddle for cooking a food product includes an upper surface, a lower surface, a first side, a second side, a front side and a rear side. A serpentine passageway is formed on the lower surface. A collector tank is juxtaposed and secured directly in touching contact with the lower surface adjacent to the first side of the griddle and is in communication with the serpentine passageway. A boiler is juxtaposed and secured directly in touching contact with the lower surface adjacent to the second side of the griddle and is in communication with the serpentine passageway. Heat applied directly to at least one of the collector tank and the boiler for heating a fluid disposed therein and supplying the heated fluid to the serpentine passageway for providing heat for cooking a food product disposed on the upper surface of the griddle.

    An apparatus is disclosed for heating or cooling food articles including a chamber containing a plurality of tubular, vertically, spaced-apart support means having a fluid inlet and outlet. A plurality of removably mounted hollow plates each having a plurality of spaced-apart tubular members having a fluid sealed therein connected to first and second plenums are positioned on the support means. Supply and return header means are connected to the inlet and outlet, respectively, of the support means and by conduit to a fluid reservoir and pump to circulate a fluid transfer means through each support means. Means for heating and cooling the fluid is also provided and control means for controlling operation of the heating and cooling means individually or in a predetermined sequence and at a preselected temperature is also included. During the heating mode the fluid inside the removable plates vaporizes and condenses.

    A dasher board for ice skating rinks is disclosed comprising a flat front panel member with a flange adjacent the lower edge to support the panel in a vertical upright position. The panel has a sheet member containing indicia in the form of advertising or the like located adjacent the front portion of the panel and a window means is positioned over the sheet member and secured to the panel. A kickplate is also provided adjacent the lower edge to absorb the impact of hockey pucks and the like. The method of constructing the dasher board is also disclosed.

    A mold construction, method and apparatus for forming backing shells for skating ring dasher boards out of a single piece of material is disclosed. The mold comprises a vacuum box and oppositely disposed forming members loosely positioned in the box to form a mold cavity. A sheet of plastic material is secured in a frame and is softened by radiant heat. The softened sheet is brought adjacent the mold cavity and is drawn into the cavity to assume the conformation thereof by air being withdrawn from the cavity through cracks therein resulting from the loosely fitting forming members. One or more layers of fiberglass and polyester resinous material applied to a face of the backing shell completes the dasher board.
