Julie has worked in the Real Estate industry in some form or another since the 70’s starting with selling Lakefront Resort property in Minnesota. Over the years, other endeavors would include ten years of Real Estate Development in San Francisco and the Bay Area, seven years of owning a Real Log Home franchise in Truckee, CA, 8 years of working as a Relocation Specialist and selling Real Estate in San Diego for Coldwell Banker. Julie graduated with a BA in Education from Michigan State University. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University. Over the years, she has held teaching credentials in five states, has dabbled in teaching but has always come back to Real Estate as a career now licensed in both California and Colorado. Locally, Julie and her husband came to Durango the first time in 1992 to develop The Lightner Creek Inn, a 10 room Bed and Breakfast that is still operating today. After selling the Inn in 1999, Julie and Richard went to Vancouver, Canada to build a 48’ Ocean Passagemaker that Richard designed with the help of a naval architect. Once built, they lived aboard and cruised Alaska and the Pacific West Coast until returning to Durango 8 years later where they built their final home. Living only three miles from Durango Mountain Resort, Julie volunteers one day a week for Guest Services. Besides skiing, singing in a large church choir for years in San Diego was another passion. Honesty, integrity, humility and an eye for detail are qualities that make any individual in any line of work an asset to their companies and their clients. Julie has years of experience in Real Estate with a proven track record exhibiting these characteristics. I am a Broker Associate working with The Wells Group here in Durango, CO. Previously, I worked several years for Coldwell Banker in San Diego, CA. I am licensed in both states. I began my Real Estate career back in the 70's selling resort and vacation properties in Brainerd, Minnesota. My background includes Real Estate in several different capacities including land acquisition, development and management of large apartment complexes in the Bay Area, CA. I worked for a Real Estate developer for 10 years in San Francisco. Following that, I worked in relocation. My most prominent company was Intuit where I sold homes to several top executives as they moved to San Diego County upon the construction of a new regional facility. My husband Richard and I purchased 20 acres in 1992 and developed a 10 room Bed and Breakfast in Durango called the Lightner Creek Inn which continues to run as a successful business today. I love this business because I get to help people achieve their goals with probably the most important investment they will ever make - buying and/or selling a home. I pride myself in my ability to "get along" with everyone and come to a meeting of the minds where everyone walks away from the table feeling like they won something.
