Buying a home cheaper than renting in all 12 UK regions
Martin Ellis, Halifax housing economist said: "It is clearly encouraging that there has been a significant decline in the cost of buying a home for those able to enter the housing market since 2008.
The bank's housing economist, Martin Ellis, said the ongoing stability in prices was a result of a lack of activity in the market. According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors the ratio of house sales to unsold properties has changed very little over the past 21 months.

UK House Prices Fall as Halifax Forecasts Stagnant Market
