Abstract:

A processor, scan controller, and method for protecting sensitive information from electronic hacking is disclosed. To maintain the security of the sensitive data present in a processor, the scan controller denies access to the scan chain until data is cleared from scan-observable portions of the processor, then clears the scan chain again prior to exiting test mode and resuming normal operation. Clearing or otherwise modifying data stored in the scan-observable portions of a processor when transitioning to and/or from a test mode will prevent unauthorized personnel from simply shifting secure data out of the scan chain, and from pre-loading data into the scan chain prior to normal operation in an attempt to set sensitive state information.

Abstract:

A method is disclosed whereby a priority amongst transactions capable of being processed at a common time is determined based upon a transaction identifier associated with each of the transaction. The transaction identifier can either directly indicate a priority amongst the transactions, or use to index storage locations that indicate priority values. The transaction identifiers can be selected to be associated with a transaction by the requesting device or other priority determination module based upon predefined criteria.

Abstract:

An apparatus and method for enabling a viewer to watch television in the usual manner, while providing the viewer with an opportunity to indicate interest in products contextually associated with, but not necessarily displayed, in the television programs viewed, are described. Viewer interest might be indicated, for example, by launching a widget from an icon located on the TV video receiver using a handheld remote controller in communication with a set-top box during the program. The program being viewed may then be identified, for example, by the selected channel, the name of the program, the episode, and the time of the selection, or a combination of these indicators. The selections are transmitted by the set-top box to a remote search server, which returns information to the viewer on a portion of the TV video receiver concerning available products contextually related to the program being viewed at the time the widget was launched by the viewer, as well as purchase information. A selected product may as well be purchased through the set-top box in communication with an e-commerce server. Use of a mobile telephone in combination with a TV set-top box for product purchasing is also described.

Abstract:

In some embodiments, a method receives social data, video data, and/or statistical data for a live video being played and generates an event based on analyzing at least one of the social data, the video data, and the statistical data. The method then classifies the social data into a social score, the video data into a video score, and the statistical data into a statistical score and generates a threshold for the social score, the video score, and the statistical score. When the threshold is met using one or more of the social score, video score, and the statistical score, the event for the live video is triggered where an occurrence of the event is not predetermined for the live video. The method causes an action to be performed during the live video based on the triggering of the event.
