A large aperture lightweight antenna uses an inflatable spherical surface deployed within a lighter than air platform. Beam steering is accomplished by moving the RF feedpoint(s) with respect to the reflector. The antenna can use an inflatable collapsible transreflector.

Abstract:

An improved implementation of a 2×4 divider formed from a bridge junction is described. The bridge junction uses parallel and series connections of coaxial lines to eliminate impedance transformers that are normally required in a 2×4 power divider. In a preferred embodiment, the bridge junction is comprised of UT-085 coax transmission lines, 20 gauge twin lead wire and SB-805-61 ferrite beads with turn windings to provide a wide bandwidth, compact, high power and rugged arrangement.

Abstract:

A bus monitor system comprises eight identical programmable monitor circuits that are each connected to a monitored bus and to a local 16-bit event bus. There are three interfaces to the event bus within each monitor circuit. One interface asserts a predetermined bit pattern on the event bus when match conditions occur between bit patterns on the monitored bus and predetermined bit patterns stored in monitor circuit registers. A second interface asserts a signal on an external pin when bit patterns on the event bus match a predetermined bit pattern stored in a monitor circuit register. A third interface asserts a predetermined bit pattern on the event bus when an external device has asserted a signal on an external pin. Each monitor circuit is capable of reading and asserting any of the bits of the event bus. The event bus is used to enable or disable monitor circuit interfaces.

Abstract:

A reflector type radio frequency antenna having: a feed for producing a difference radiation pattern with a cone-shaped null region; and, a reflector having a surface disposed to reflect a portion of the energy in the difference radiation pattern and having the edge disposed in the cone-shaped null region. With such arrangement, since the edge of the reflector is disposed in the null region of the difference radiation pattern such edge is not radiated with energy which could otherwise illuminate such edge, scatter, and thereby generate unwanted side lobes in the free space antenna pattern.
