Abstract:

A throttle control for an internal combustion engine comprising an electric motor and a motor drive connecting the motor to a throttle plate of a throttle body, whereby throttle plate control is established solely by the electric motor without a mechanical motion-transmitting mechanism between the vehicle accelerator pedal and the throttle plate. The motor is under the control of an electronic microprocessor that responds to a signal indicating that the engine ignition system has been deactivated. A command is sent by the microprocessor at the time of engine shutdown to the motor to actuate the throttle plate to an intermediate position, thereby avoiding throttle plate freezing and avoiding throttle plate sticking at closed throttle due to deposits, such as hydrocarbon deposits, on the wall of the throttle body.

Abstract:

A number of integrated circuit dies having on board protection against electrical overstress (EOS) transients are provided. Generally, the devices have an integrated circuit die with an outer periphery and a functional die area. A plurality of conductive input/output pads are formed on the integrated circuit die. Typically, a first conductive guard rail is disposed on the integrated circuit die and forms a gap between each one of the input/output pads. A voltage variable material is disposed in the gaps between the conductive guard rail and the input/output pads. Typically, a plurality of electrical leads are electrically connected to a respective one of the plurality of conductive input/output pads. At normal operating voltages, the voltage variable material is non-conductive. However, in response to an EOS transient, the voltage variable material switches to a low resistance state, providing a conductive path between the conductive guard rail and the input/output pads.

The present invention provides a method for heat treating a polymer PTC composition to increase the peak resistivity of the composition making it especially well suited for high voltage applications. A polymer PTC composition having a melting point temperature T is provided. The temperature of the polymer PTC composition is increased at a rate, r , to a temperature greater than T. A color measurement instrument that is capable of both spot reading and strip reading. The instrument includes a handheld unit and a docking unit. When removed from the docking unit, the handheld unit is used for spot reading. When docked in the docking unit, the handheld unit and the docking unit are used together for strip reading. The handheld unit includes a self-storing target that is deployed for spot reading and stored for strip reading. The handheld unit also includes a self-storing calibration plaque that is deployed for calibration and stored otherwise. An apparatus, system and method for targeting an image formed on an imaging member. The imaging member includes an imaging sensitive layer formed thereon.
