Abstract:

A bypass mechanism is disclosed for use with a turbocharger. The bypass mechanism may have an exhaust passage formed by at least a first wall, and a bypass manifold formed by at least a second wall surrounding the exhaust passage and including a space between the first wall and the second wall. The bypass mechanism may further have at least one opening in the first wall fluidly connecting the exhaust passage with the space. At least one valve is configured to open and close the opening to selectively allow exhaust gas to pass from the exhaust passage to the space through the at least one opening. The space may be fluidly connected to at least one entry passage of an exhaust stack. In addition, the at least one opening and the at least one entry passage may be positioned on opposite sides of the exhaust passage.

Abstract:

An apparatus for flaring an outer tube of a double-walled tube is provided. The apparatus includes a frame, a flaring tool and a clamping arrangement. The frame includes a first portion and a second portion that is laterally disposed in relation to the first portion. The clamping arrangement is disposed on the first portion. The clamping arrangement is configured to receive the double-walled tube therein and position an end of the double-walled tube to face the second portion. The clamping arrangement is operable to axially restrict the double-walled tube. The flaring tool is disposed in an axially movable engagement with respect to the second portion. The flaring tool includes a flaring tip that defines a tapered portion. The tapered portion is configured to face the end of the double-walled tube and flare an end of the outer tube.

Abstract:

A wastegate is disclosed for use with a turbocharger in an exhaust system. The wastegate may have a housing at least partially defining an elongated inlet passage, and an elongated outlet passage arranged in parallel orientation relative to the elongated inlet passage. The wastegate may also have a first valve opening connecting the elongated inlet and outlet passages, and a first valve member disposed in the first valve opening and configured to move in a direction substantially orthogonal to a length direction of the elongated inlet and outlet passages. The wastegate may additionally have a second valve opening connecting the elongated inlet and outlet passages, and a second valve member disposed in the second valve opening.

Abstract:

A gas supply nozzle assembly for port injection of gaseous fuel into a cylinder of an engine includes a main body with a funnel shape that has a large area inlet for attachment to a metering valve and a small end. A centerline of the main body curves through an angle greater than zero. An end nozzle that defines a gas passage extending between an inlet and a discharge end. A check valve is clamped between the small end of the main body and the inlet end of the end nozzle, and is biased closed to block flow from the end nozzle into the main body, the opening responsive to a pressure differential to permit flow from the main body into the end nozzle.

Abstract:

An assembly for coupling a pair of double-walled tubes is provided. The assembly includes a pair of flanges disposed in an opposing relation to each other and mutually coupled thereto. Each flange defines a central opening that is configured to correspond with a similar opening on an opposing flange. The central openings of the coupled flanges are configured to communicate a first fluid. The assembly further includes an annular hub portion extending axially away from each of the flanges. The annular hub portion is disposed about the central opening of the respective flange. The assembly further includes a lip portion depending frustoconically from the hub portion. The flange, the hub portion, and the lip portion define a conduit extending therethrough. The conduits are configured to allow passage of a second fluid therethrough.
