Abu Qatada to stay in UK: Theresa May loses appeal fight to deport radical cleric
SIAC decided in November that Abu Qatada - whose real name is Omar Othman, could not be removed to Jordan, where he was convicted of terror charges in his absence in 1999, without "a real risk" of evidence obtained through torture being used against him at a retrial.
A spokesman for the Judicial Office said: "At a telephone hearing this afternoon with lawyers for both sides, Mr Justice Irwin, chairman of Siac, ordered the return of Omar Othman, otherwise known as Abu Qatada, to prison.

Earlier this year, judges at the European Court in Strasbourg ruled the cleric - whose real name is Omar Othman - would not face ill-treatment if returned to Jordan, citing assurances outlined in a UK-Jordan agreement.
