Abstract:

Methods, apparatuses, and systems allowing for configuration of message logging policy on a granular basis for web services networks. In certain embodiments, the present invention allows for an efficient data logging scheme where only messages, or message elements, of interest are stored. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the fabric services associated with the web services network architecture supports different instances of a logging service to which message data are logged. For example, the logging service instances can be configured to log only header information (header logging instance), only payload information (payload logging instance), or entire messages (message logging instance). The web services network control points can be configured to flag messages transmitted to a logging node with a logging service type, which determines which logging service instance operates on the message.

Abstract:

Methods, apparatuses and systems directed to a distributed data repository system including a plurality of symmetric data repository nodes. In certain embodiments of the present invention, the distributed data repository system is message-centric operative to store message payloads transmitted from client nodes. In certain embodiments, the distributed data repository system is BLOB-centric, maintaining binary data objects and indexes of attribute values that map to the binary data objects. Of course, the present invention can be utilized to store a great variety of digital data contained in message payloads. According to certain embodiments of the present invention, the attribute indexes are fully replicated across all data repository nodes, while the message payloads (e. g. , data objects or other content) are exchanged across data repository nodes as needed to fulfill client queries. In this manner, each data repository node in the distributed system can fulfill any client request, while reducing the storage and memory requirements for each data repository node.

Abstract:

Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating the support of stateful messaging protocols in web services and other network environments comprising a plurality of distributed control points. The present invention supports Web service protocols, such as SOAP-Conversation, that introduce an element of statefulness into a Web service invocation, ensuring that use of such protocols is enabled and, in some embodiments, enhanced in web services networks implemented by a plurality of distributed control points or routing nodes. As discussed above, a fundamental requirement introduced by stateful protocols is that, once an endpoint initializes stateful data (such as a session, context, or conversation token) in response to a Web service invocation, all subsequent messages associated with that conversation instance or stateful data must be routed to that endpoint. In other words, the consuming applications requiring access to functionality dependent on stateful data must have an affinity for the endpoint on which the state data resides for as long as the dependency persists. The invention provides methods, apparatuses and systems directed to ensuring that the control points implement this affinity.
